5 Drinks Cause High Cholesterol, Don't Consume It Often

Smoothies are high in saturated fat. Just one tablespoon contains 12 grams of cholesterol-boosting substances. A meta-analysis of 2020 clinical trials in Circulation showed that consumption of coconut oil for two weeks increased bad cholesterol by 10.5 milligrams per deciliter when compared to non-tropical vegetable oils.

 

5. Alcohol

Consuming more than the recommended alcohol consumption of one drink per day for women and two for men can have a negative impact on heart health. Alcohol is known to increase triglycerides, and research clearly shows that drinking a lot of alcohol, especially occasionally, has a significant impact on blood fat ratio and is associated with cardiovascular disease.
