Body of the article:
These are just a few things you can do to start rebuilding your metabolism faster. You may have heard the news about people who have lost a lot of pounds just by switching to a diet soda or walking for a few minutes each day. These are all small habits that make a big difference and increase your metabolism over time. You will make weight loss faster and easier by increasing your digestive rate and burning extra calories.
1) Move More
People who sit down burn less than one-third of calories a day. Just taking every opportunity to move can make a huge difference in the number of calories you burn in one day. A little exercise will add over time to more calories. The trick is to keep going all day. Write the word ‘go’ in the posted notes and place them in places you will notice when you are sitting still. Then, take every opportunity to move - here are some ideas for burning extra calories:
Touch your feet
Swipe your legs
Get up and stretch
Move your head from one side to the other
Change location
Rub and pat
Speed up and down
Use an upstairs toilet
Park in the far corner of the parking lot
Stand on the phone and move from side to side
Clean and loosen your muscles
2) Eat Less and More
Evidence suggests that eating small meals every 2-4 hours will keep your body burning faster than large, unusual foods. When you eat less often your body stays active to digest and absorb energy.
3) Eat Fat
If you want to feel happy and not use oils you need to first apply them. Fats not only taste good our bodies need to function properly. By eating a diet high in 'healthy' fat every day you will increase your calorie burning capacity. Try to include fats such as Flaxseed oil, hempseed oil, olive oil, avocado, salmon, albacore tuna, nuts and seeds in your daily diet.
4) Drink Cold Water
Evidence suggests that your body may use extra calories to try to raise cold water to your body temperature and drink hot drinks. And having plenty of water properly will help your body's metabolic processes heat up faster.
5) Weight Loss Exercise
Weight training improves your metabolism in many ways. By lifting weights you will build muscle mass. And muscle tissue works with metabolic function, so they require calories even when you are resting so it helps to increase the fat-burning enzymes in your body.
6) Spice up
Eating hot spices can speed up your metabolism. Half a teaspoon of cinnamon a day can help improve metabolism and keep blood sugar levels high. Can't bear the thought of cinnamon in your morning cup of coffee? Season with cayenne, crushed red pepper or wasabi.
7) Eat plenty of Protein
Proteins need a complex chemical breakdown by your body to be processed and used as fat. For example, 100 calories of protein can take up to 30 calories to be processed. Protein also takes longer to digest and helps to stabilize blood sugar for a long time and this can help you to eat less later in the day. Eat a portion of protein in all foods and as part of your snack and you will increase the total number of calories you burn each day.
