A friend of my father's, who told us this, was very naturally afraid.
About 10 years ago he went to Romania, where his relatives died and left him a simple inheritance: a small house and a sum of money. He did not refuse, and later regretted that decision.
When he got there, he quickly got to know the neighbors and was very surprised when they offered to either consecrate the house or stay with them until he made major repairs there. When he asked why they said that, they told him that the house was infested with evil spirits. And he should be especially afraid of the doll collection. He only laughed, as he did not believe this nonsense at all.
He moved into the house, lived for a week, two weeks - everything was fine, and he did not see anything strange in the doll collection. Just porcelain dolls, standing in a big glass cabinet. He seemed to have forgotten about everything, but by the end of the third week something began to happen that he still could not explain to himself.
At night he began to hear footsteps, but not adult ones, as if they were children's, someone scratching, doing something, dropping something. And in the morning he would sometimes find broken cups, spilled paint, ruined brushes (our painter friend). He became uncomfortable, but refused to believe it to the end. When he told his neighbors, he heard an absolutely absurd, in his opinion, interpretation - as if the dolls were harming him. He was frightened, but he did not show it.
He painted the picture during the day, finished by nightfall, and went straight to bed. In the night he heard footsteps, rustling, grinding again - but he was afraid to go out of the bedroom. And in the morning he felt quite ill - in some places he saw traces of small hands on the picture, and next to it - open paints. After producing several tons of bricks, he decided to look at the dolls. And one of them had paint marks somewhere on her hands. He couldn't explain it, so he just sold the house and threw the dolls away. And since then he seems to be living normally.
