Apple iPad 9 and iPad mini 6: affordable and advanced tablets with stylus support

The new products are presented in different price categories and differ greatly in the number of innovations. We have already talked briefly about the characteristics of both tablets in our Telegram channel, now it's time to analyze their features in more detail.

iPad Mini gen 6

It was the "mini" that drew most of the attention of the pair of tablets presented, because it received a lot of interesting innovations.

The dimensions of the new product correspond to those of its predecessors, but the display has become larger. This was achieved by abandoning the "Home" button and the maximum narrowing of the frames.

The diagonal of the display now is 8.3 inches, it supports True Tone technology, and the brightness of the panel is 500 nit. The Liquid Retina panel is used.

The new Apple A15 Bionic chip, whose features we reviewed in detail in the announcement of the iPhone 13 family, is responsible for performance. According to Apple, the performance of the new tablet increased by 40% compared to its predecessor, and the increase in graphics was 80%. No matter how you look at it, impressive figures. The storage capacity can be 64 GB or 256 GB.

The fingerprint scanner has moved to the top edge, to the power button. 

The compact new product has an advanced front camera with a wide viewing angle and Center Stage technology, which tracks the user during a video call and forms a picture so that he always remains in the center of the frame. The main module has a resolution of 12 megapixels with a brightness of f/1.8.

The speakers support stereo sound.

The tablet is compatible with Apple Pencil second generation.

Among other interesting details - the tablet is equipped with a USB Type-C port and supports connection to 5G networks.

The iPad mini (2021) starts at $499.

This tablet is positioned by the manufacturer as an affordable solution with broad functionality, which can be used for work and study. Visually, it is designed the same way as its predecessors with thin side frames and the signature round "Home" button.

The diagonal Retina screen is 10.2 inches, there is support for True Tone technology. The new product supports the first generation Apple Pencil.

The novelty uses the A13 Bionic processor, which debuted on the iPhone 11. With this chip, the new iPad is 20% faster than its predecessor. The minimum storage capacity is 64 GB.

Both tablets will run the new iPadOS.

The front camera here has been updated and got the same Center Stage technology. The resolution is 12 megapixels and the viewing angle is 122°. The resolution of the rear camera is 8 megapixels.

Connection to mobile networks is limited to LTE standard, and for wired connection Lightning is used.

The cost of this iPad is noticeably lower than that of the "mini" and starts at $329.
