Direct monitoring of the 2021 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) which will take place in the midst of a pandemic is quite dense. Although there is no official data from the exhibition organizers, on certain days the queue looks snaking in front of the entrance, especially on weekends.
Long queues were also seen at the booths of certain brands, which had new models launched and took advantage of this exhibition to sell. Call it, Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, Daihatsu, Hyundai, and BMW. Seeing this condition, Seven Events, the organizer of GIIAS 2021, decided to open this automotive exhibition longer on the weekend, under the pretext of visitor satisfaction. From Friday 19 November to Sunday 21 November 2021, GIIAS 2021 will close at 21.00 WIB from the original ending at 20.00 WIB.
"We are trying to fulfill the wishes of visitors so that they can be more satisfied enjoying GIIAS," said Romi, President Director of Seven Events as the executor of GIIAS 2021 in his official statement, Thursday (11/18/2021).
With the extension of the exhibition opening time, GIIAS organizers claim to maintain the health protocol rules that have been in effect previously. At GIIAS 2021, all parties involved, including visitors, must be in good health, have undergone 2x full doses of the vaccine, be registered in the PeduliLindung application, always use medical masks, regularly wash their hands, and always keep their distance.
In addition, visitors who want to come to GIIAS must purchase tickets online. GIIAS 2021 entrance tickets are only available on the GIIAS Auto360 application with visitor attendance divided into three sessions each day. The ticket price, Monday-Friday is IDR 50,000, while on weekends it is IDR 100,000.
