Aston Martin has unveiled a new version of the DBX crossover, which the British manufacturer called "the world's most powerful luxury SUV". The car received the designation DBX707, which reflects the recoil of its engine.
Aston Martin DBS 707 was equipped with a deeply upgraded 4.0-liter V8 engine with two turbines produced by German AMG, which was modified by British specialists. The unit develops 707 hp and 900 Nm of torque — 157 forces and 200 Nm more than a standard DBX motor.
The new crossover turned out to be more powerful than direct competitors. For example, the 6.0-liter W12 engine on the Bentley Bentayga Speed produces 635 hp, and the twin-turbo "eight" with a volume of 4.0 liters on the Lamborghini Urus develops 650 horsepower.
The Aston Martin DBX707 engine, working together with an upgraded nine-speed robotic gearbox, all-wheel drive and a self-locking differential, allows the car to accelerate to the first "hundred" in 3.2 seconds. The claimed maximum speed was 310 km/h, which makes the DBX707 the fastest production crossover in the world. For comparison, the last record holder in the face of Bentley Bentayga Speed has a maximum speed of 306 km per hour.
Along with the increased power, the Aston Martin DBS 707 received a significantly upgraded chassis. Engineers reconfigured the adaptive three-level air suspension, applied stiffer springs and shock absorbers, modified the steering, and also changed the settings of electronic assisting systems. Finally, the crossover received more productive carbon-ceramic brakes with 420 and 390 mm discs in front and rear, respectively.
As for the appearance, the variant with the index "707" can be distinguished from the standard DBX due to the enlarged radiator grille, other air intakes, as well as the splitter and rear diffuser. The cabin has a slightly modified front panel and sports seats with electric adjustments in 16 directions.
In the USA, car prices will start from $ 232 thousand (approximately 17.8 million rubles at the current exchange rate). It's a little more expensive than a Lamborghini Urus and cheaper than a Bentley Bentayga Speed.
