Asus ROG Phone 5s Specifications Leaked: Up To 18GB RAM, Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC

Asus ROG Phone 5s specifications have been leaked online. As per a tweet by a known tipster, the gaming phone may launch soon. Asus had launched its ROG Phone 3 early in 2020 and brought along Asus ROG Phone 3s in July last year with a slight upgrade in its processor. The company could be looking to do something similar this year as well. The vanilla Asus ROG Phone 5 debuted earlier this year and Asus ROG Phone 5s may make its debut very soon.

Asus ROG Phone 3s Specifications

The first Asus ROG Phone 3s was unveiled in March last year with a Snapdragon 845 SoC under the hood. The gaming phone came with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It was the second phone in the world to have 8GB RAM, beating Apple iPhone XS and Google Pixel 3. Asus ROG Phone 3s came with a 6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. It had a notch up top which housed the front camera and the array of sensors. In terms of camera, Asus ROG Phone 3s had a 12-megapixel rear camera with a single-LED flash. It had an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The Asus ROG Phone 3s had a 6-chamber subwoofer for outputting immersive sound effects from its dual front-facing speakers. Connectivity options included Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.


What Is The Asus ROG Phone 5s?

Asus ROG Phone 5s is the upcoming model of the Asus ROG Phone that was launched earlier this year in March. The phone comes with all the features of the flagship model. However, the presence of a 6-inch QHD+ display and water-drop display notch in its predecessor makes the Asus ROG Phone 5s unique. The key highlight of the phone is its AMOLED display and its liquid cooling system. The front of the smartphone comes with an AMOLED display with a 6-inch screen. The flagship model of the Asus ROG Phone comes with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 144 Hz. There is a 17:9 aspect ratio and the phone packs the Super VOOC fast charging technology. The phone also boasts of a high-end audio system.


ASUS ROG Phone 5s Launch Date

According to a tweet by a known tipster, the Asus ROG Phone 5s could launch on January 31. An image of the phone carrying its model number as ZE520KL had surfaced on Geekbench database earlier, which hints the phone could be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC. Moreover, the new report confirms that the phone will have a 6-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM, 128GB inbuilt storage, and Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. The phone is said to feature a Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. It will pack a 4,000mAh battery, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC support. On the camera front, the ROG Phone 5s will sport a 12-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture.


Asus ROG Phone 5s Price

Asus ROG Phone 5s price is expected to start at €999 (roughly Rs. 88,600) for the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant. The premium variant with a whopping 16GB RAM/ 512GB storage is expected to cost an extra €200 (~ Rs. 1,46,200). Moreover, the phone is expected to be launched in a slew of colour options such as Star Wars Red, Dazzling White, Dazzling Black, Dazzling Gold, and Maxx Black. The company has teased several ROG Phone 5s features including the Snapdragon 888 SoC. The ROG Phone 5s sports a 6-inch display with 2160x1080p resolution. The panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. On the back, the phone has an Exynos 9820 SoC coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage.



Going by the leaked specifications, it will be difficult for the Asus ROG Phone 5 to steal the limelight from the Asus ROG Phone 3, but, it can definitely boost the ROG Phone 3's performance. The specifications are expected to be similar to the Asus ROG Phone 3, however, we may get to see a minor upgrade in terms of RAM. Some time ago, it was reported that the ROG Phone 3 could arrive with up to 10GB RAM.
