Attack on Titan has recently broadcasted another trailer for The Last Season Section 4, the apparently vast continuation of the last pieces of the source material paving the way to a dubious finale.
It's just 30 seconds in length, however includes some new film that fans will need to see.
The trailer, notwithstanding being new, just keeps on offering a delivery date bother as opposed to a particular one. Yet again it's simply Fall 2023, which is likely somewhere close to September 1 and November 31 in the event that I needed to figure.
This isn't exactly even Part 4, it's Season 4, Part 3,Part 2, as the last part was isolated in half itself, such as parting the iota as we get increasingly deep into this abnormal course of the show endeavoring to end. The Whole story of Attack On titan:
I am going to explain the full history of Attack on Titan as best as I can. It is a long & complex story that will take awhile to read.
*Spoiler Warning to those who have not read the manga*
Let’s start at the beginning where it all began
The Beginning
2000 years ago, a kind young slave named Ymir set some pigs free. King Fritz, leader of the Eldians, asked who had done this & all of the other slaves pointed to Ymir. As punishment, Ymir was set loose to be hunted by soldiers. While being hunted, Ymir stumbled upon a very large tree with an opening where she could seek shelter. She stepped into the tree & fell into a large sinkhole & almost drowned. However, a parasitic, Hallucigenia lifeform attached itself to her & as a result, the very first titan was created. Despite her power, Ymir continued to serve King Fritz, using her power to expand the Eldian empire, eventually having three daughters with him.
One day, a soldier attempted to assassinate King Fritz with a spear. Ymir dove in front to protect him. Despite everything Fritz did to Ymir, she loved him. However, Fritz did not care for Ymir. Instead of being able to heal with her titan powers, Ymir died because she lost the will to live, as Fritz did not care about her as a person as mentioned. Ymir was transported to a place called the Paths, a realm beyond death & time where all Eldians are connected. For 2000 years, she continued to follow the will of King Fritz. She was essentially trapped there & built titans from sand with her own hands.
Fritz had his daughters eat Ymir’s body & inherit the titan powers, continuing to pass the powers from generation to generation.
Eventually, there ends up being nine shifters:
- The Founding Titan (Also called the Coordinate & God of all Titans) - Can control all titans, the most powerful titan of all by far. Can only be fully used by an Eldian with Royal blood.
- The Colossal Titan - A God of Destruction. The tallest titan at 60m. It can create a nuclear explosion upon transforming.
- The Armored Titan - A titan covered in hardened plates.
- The Female Titan - A versatile titan that can harden it’s body & attract pure titans.
- The Beast Titan - An animalistic titan that is completely different for every user. The most unique titan.
- The Jaw Titan - The fastest titan with teeth & claws that can crush anything.
- The Cart Titan - A quadruped titan with the best endurance. Can stay in titan form for months.
- The War Hammer Titan - Can create any weapon from hardening. Very powerful but exhausts its powers quickly
- The Attack Titan - Physically very strong & can transcend time
Important notes:
- Titan shifters can only live for 13 years, called the “Curse of Ymir”
- When you inherit a titan, you can inherit the memories of past users
- A titan power can only be inherited by turning into a pure titan & eating the previous user & consuming their spinal fluid
- Only Eldians are able to become titans
For centuries, the Eldians used the power of the titans to rule over all nations. Eventually, the continent of Marley were able to fight back & capture many of the titan powers & began to overcome Eldia’s reign of terror. Karl Fritz (a descendent of King Fritz), the holder of the Founding Titan, decided to retreat with a large group of Eldians to a remote island. On this Island, he erased the minds of all the Eldians & constructed three walls that consisted of millions of Colossal titans that he threatened to unleash & destroy the world if anyone attacked the island. This was referred to as The Rumbling. However, he never intended to follow up on this threat, as he realized Eldians can never atone for the atrocities they have committed over the centuries. If enemy nations attacked, he would accept the impending fate. He used the founding Titan to create the “vow renouncing war”, which permitted anyone with royal blood from unleashing the full power of the Founding Titan from now on.
In Marley, Eldians were treated as devils & monsters because of the actions of their ancestors. Certain Eldian children were trained from a young age in order to inherit the power of the titans, as Eldians are the only ones who can inherit the power of the titans. At this point, Marley has control of 7 of the 9 titans, with the Founding Titan & the Attack Titan being the only ones they don’t control.
The Present
One day, an Eldian boy living in Marley named Grisha Yeager went outside the internment zone with his sister. They were caught & sent home after Grisha was punished. However, his sister was later found dead, ripped apart by dogs, ordered by one of the officers that caught them. This infuriated Grisha & he vowed to see the Eldian empire rise again. He joined & helped create an Eldian restoration group when he got older & they continued to meet & plan about finding the founding Titan & reclaiming Eldia. He met & fell in love with a Royal blooded Eldian named Dina. Together, they had a child named Zeke. They planned to use Zeke through the warrior program to help their cause by having him become a Titan shifter. They unfortunately treated him more like a tool than a son. Zeke, realizing his parents were close to be found out & arrested, reluctantly had to turn his parents in, which would save himself & his grandparents from being punished.
Grisha & Dina were taken to Paradis Island to be turned into pure titans & wander around forever, which was the punishment dolled out to Eldian criminals. Dina was turned into a Titan but Grisha was saved by Eren Kruger, the officer who punished him years ago & was the current holder of the Attack Titan. Kruger was a secret informant for the Restorationists the whole time. He passed on the Attack Titan to Grisha & entrusted him to find & take back the Founding Titan to order to save Eldia. Zeke, having been apart of the warrior program & befriending a man named Tom Ksaver, the current beast Titan, wanted to one day take back the Founding Titan to sterilize all Eldians in order to peacefully end all war & the reign of titans. A few years later, Zeke inherited the Beast Titan from Ksaver.
Grisha soon started a new family while on Paradis. He had a son named Eren, whom he named after Eren Kruger. Grisha finally locates the royal family, who possess the Founding Titan but decides to wait, as his love for his new family is more important to him right now.
Marley eventually sends four of their new titan shifters on a mission to Paradis to find & reclaim the founding titan. One of the warriors who is named Marcel, the possessor of the Jaw Titan, is eaten by mindless titan. So the warriors are now down to three to carry out the mission. Reiner, the holder of the Armored Titan. Bertolt, holder of the Colossal Titan & Annie, holder of the Female Titan. Together, they breach the wall in order to try & draw out the Founding Titan & sneak in amongst the chaos to infiltrate for more information. In this chaos, Eren’s mother is eaten & killed by a titan, the titan which used to be Dina, his dad’s former wife. Grisha goes to the royal family & kills the current holder of the Founding Titan. He than locates his son & passes on both the Attack Titan & Founding Titan to Eren, which Eren does not find out about for several years.
Years later, Eren joined the cadets in order to help destroy the titans, along with his best friend Armin & Eren’s adopted sister Mikasa, whom his family had taken in after her parents were killed & Eren saved her from home invaders. Throughout the series, Mikasa has felt a strong love towards Eren, always wanting to protect him & fight for him. In the group of cadets were also Reiner, Bertolt & Annie, who were still infiltrating the island.
One day, Bertolt uses his Colossal Titan to once again try & draw out the Founding Titan, not knowing it resides within Eren. Armin is saved by Eren, who is seemingly killed. However, he transforms into the Attack Titan for the first time. Everyone is terrified because they did not know humans could turn into titans. Remember, everyone on Paradis Island had their memories erased by Karl Fritz, so they have no prior knowledge of titan shifters.
Eventually, they use Eren’s power to help re-seal the wall & to help them in war to defeat the titans. Annie, the Female titan, tries to capture Eren on her own, as they have had no luck finding the Founding Titan & she feels if they return with the Attack Titan, their mission was not a total failure. She is unsuccessful, thanks to Mikasa & Levi Ackerman, the captain of the Scouts & humanities' strongest & most skilled warrior.
Annie’s identity is eventually discovered. She is defeated by Eren & ends up imprisoned. Soon after, Zeke makes his way to Paradis Island in order to find out what’s happening to the warriors. The Titan that inadvertently inherited the Jaw Titan was a woman named Ymir, who is among the scouts & helps protect her friends from a hoard of titans. Reiner & Bertolt’s identities are soon discovered by Armin & the rest of the scouts. Eren tries to fight them but is captured along with Ymir.
The Scouts execute a rescue plan to get back Eren & Ymir. During the rescue, the leader of the Scouts, Erwin Smith, loses an arm but frees Eren. However, Eren & Mikasa end up stranded with a titans approaching them. The titan that ate their mother, which used to be Dina, attempts to kill them. Eren, unable to transform due to being too weak, punches the titan out of desperation. At that point, Eren inadvertently activates the power of the Founding Titan, as he came into contact with a titan with royal blood. He makes the mindless titans attack Reiner & Bertolt, & the scouts escape. Ymir goes with Reiner & Bertolt, agreeing to return the Jaw Titan to Marley. A girl named Historia is eventually named Queen of Paradis after a political struggle & cover up arc, as she is a royal descendent & a dear friend to Eren & everyone else.
The scouts plan to re-seal the wall that was broken months ago, in order to stop the titans & get to Grisha’s basement, which Eren saw through memories holds answers. The are expecting an attack by Reiner, Bertolt & Zeke, so they try to prepare accordingly. Once the Scouts arrive & begin to progress, Reiner shows up, as does Zeke with an army of titans. Along with Zeke is Pieck Finger, the possessor of the Cart Titan. After a long battle, Reiner is subdued, Zeke is defeated thanks to Levi, but not before he wipes out most of the scouts & mortally wounds Erwin. Pieck rescues Zeke & Reiner before they can be killed. However, Bertolt is fed to Armin, who was mortally wounded & is chosen to receive the power of the Colossal Titan in order to survive. They manage to reach Grisha’s basement & discover his backstory, where he came from & about the continent of Marley. A medal ceremony is given to all the scouts who survived the mission. When Eren kisses Historia’s hand, his Founding Titan power activates & see visions that leave him visually distressed. So now, Eren knows his future & begins to slowly execute the plan.
The Final Arc
Years pass & the soldiers of Paradis learn more & more about Marley & the outside world. Eren & Zeke plan to work together to execute Zeke’s Euthanasia plan, although Eren secretly has his own plan. After an invasion of Marley by Eren & help from his friends, he captured the power of the Warhammer titan. Eren continues to act distant towards his friends, making them angry & questioning him. An important thing to note is that despite everything Eren does, Mikasa has always loved him & wants to protect him, as he is the one who saved her all those years ago.
Marley soon invades Paradis in retaliation. Zeke had secretly mixed his spinal fluid in the wine that was fed to Paradis officers. Having royal blood, once he screamed he could turn these people into titans & control them at will. He does this & attempts to come into contact with Eren to activate the power of the founding Titan. Eren is beheaded but his head lands in Zeke’s hands before he could die, & is transported to the Paths, where he sees Ymir the Founder. Eren reveals he will not go along with Zeke’s plan. Having planned for this, Zeke reveals Ymir will only listen to those with royal blood.
Zeke takes Eren into Grisha’s memories to show Eren how their father manipulated him. However, Zeke ends up taking Eren into the memories of when Grisha stole the Founding Titan. However, Grisha does nothing. Eren than transcends time & speaks to his father, encouraging him to steal the Founding Titan & complete his mission, so it could than be transferred to Eren. This is because Eren knew all this would happen, as it is revealed the Attack Titan can see the future & he used this to manipulate Zeke & Grisha. Eren than is able to convince Ymir to help him. Having gained control of the Founding Titan, he activates the Rumbling, with the intention of destroying the world outside of Paradis, as the hate for them will never go away so he’s left with no choice. The Parasitic Hallucigenia emerges from Eren & creates a enormous, skeleton like titan body.
Armin, Mikasa, the scouts, Marlyeans & the titan shifters Reiner, Pieck, Annie & Falco, the current holder of the Jaw titan, decide they have to stop Eren from killing everyone. They locate Eren to try & stop him, with the plan to use Armin’s Colossal Titan but Eren summons an army of titan shifters from throughout history to stop them. Eventually, Levi is able to kill Zeke, which stops the Rumbling & Armin detonates his Colossal titan to try & finish off Eren. However Eren & the Hallucigenia survive & engage in a final battle. Mikasa delivers the final blow to Eren, beheading him & destroying the Hallucigenia & the power of the titans, as the parasite’s host was killed.
It is revealed Eren did all of this to make his friends & the people of Paradis heroes, to make the world stop hating them. He made himself the villain & wiped out 80% of mankind to do this.
For 2000 years, Ymir obeyed the will of King Fritz because she loved him, despite how awful a person he was & how badly she was treated by him. She wanted to be free & waited all this time for someone to free her. That person was Mikasa, as despite loving Eren with all her heart, she knew she had to kill him to save the world. Eren always fought for freedom. He could have easily defeated or controlled his friends but he wanted them to stop him. He did not want to take away their freedom, as that’s all he ever wanted for them.

I definitely missed some parts here & there but this explanation was long enough as it is. A brilliant story that I was happy to explain. Hope you enjoyed!
