Although traditional publishing is out of the question. They are strict and it takes a long time. It's also not advisable for new writers. But if you want to give it a try, that's fine as well.

 

1. Start a Blog

 

If you only like to write short stories, the best way to go is to start a blog. You can have an adult website. It doesn't have to be a porn site. That's a different thing than being an erotica blogger.

Once you have your blog set up, you need to monetize it. Don't expect that AdSense will accept an adult blog. You can instead find adult affiliate programs if you want to monetize your dirty blog.

There are different online novel platforms where you can start writing dirty stories. If you want to build your fan base, it's a good idea to go for it. If the website likes your dirty story, they can also offer an exclusive or non-exclusive contract to buy your novel.

 

Although there are tons of online novel platforms out there, just choose one that will suit you best. You can try WattPad or WebNovel since they are the most popular websites for online novels.

 

I have my stories from them although I just used them to redirect them to my books. Currently, I'm into Inkitt since there is a good market for erotica novels on that site. You can build a fanbase from them.

 

They also have a contest that you can join if you already feel confident about your dirty story. Although the review about them is not exactly good when it comes to being offered an exclusive contract.

 

But if you are still a beginner, it's not a bad idea to give it a try. I already have several books but I still have four ongoing novels with Inkitt. Once I get an offer from them, I will let you know how it goes.

Of course, self-publishing is a great way to sell your dirty stories online. Just create an Amazon account and go to Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP). Complete your profile and start self-publishing.

 

It's very easy to publish your dirty stories with KDP. Although you will need to finish your novel first before publishing it. You have to upload a manuscript on KDP. That means your novel should be completed.

 

After that, you can either upload a book cover or use the book cover maker. It's pretty easy to use and you can do it even if you're not artistic. Make sure to use royalty-free images to avoid issues.

 

Then you can already set the price of your book. This is a tricky part since the competition is high. But if your dirty story is more than 3,000 words, you can go for the $2.99 pricing. Or lower if you want your dirty story to get noticed first.

 

Once your ebook is already approved and live on Amazon, you can share the link on social media. That way, people will know that it's available for purchase. You can also enroll your book in KDP Select.

Having your dirty stories on membership platforms can also make erotica fans save some money. Instead of buying your ebook one by one, they can subscribe to Patreon and Ko-fi to have full access.

 

These sites are for all types of creators. As an author, you should also take advantage of the membership sites. Your future fans will thank you for that. Just write your novels and upload every chapter.

 

Once you have completed your novel, you have an option to take them down and publish them on Amazon. Although you can just leave it there for your new fans. I saw that idea from Reddit.
