Chip shortage and high cost of electronics will persist next year

The largest semiconductor manufacturer TSMC believes that the global shortage of electronic components will stretch throughout 2022. Seeking Alpha refers to the statement of the top manager of the Taiwanese chip maker.

The general director of the company Xi-Xi Wei noted that the degree of utilization of TSMC production lines is planned for the whole next year. This is also due to the fact that the Taiwanese manufacturer is engaged in the manufacture of semiconductor products, which have no alternative on the market.

The company's work to improve the situation with the supply of auto components will begin to be felt in the coming months. TSMC will be able to dramatically increase the supply of electronic components as early as next year.

However, TSMC does not exclude that in 2022 the deficit will affect other segments of electronics, primarily smartphones and computers.
