The Empty Man And The Pontifex Institute.
The Empty Man appears to be an urban legend that has gained in popularity in recent decades. According to folklore, the first day after summoning the Empty Man, the entity can be heard. They will be able to see the entity on day two. The Empty Man comes for them on the third day. The events that occur between Paul and his friends, as well as Amanda and her friends, follow this pattern. When James begins to experience his own share of horror, he takes the same route. During his inquiry, James learns that the Pontifex Institute is the headquarters of the Pontifex Society. It is a doomsday cult that appears, to be influenced by Eastern mysticism.
Its origins can be traced back to Bhutan, and it later relocated to St. Louis, Missouri. The cultists worship the Between One, an "ancient and angry" deity who, they think, has the power to erase, the restrictions of reality. The cultists believe that, just as all living species' consciousnesses, thoughts, and dreams dwell in the biosphere, so do the thoughts and consciousnesses of beings like Between One. The Between One's conduit, the Empty Man, is his means of communicating with his Pontifex Society followers.
Tulpa, The Leader Of The Pontifex Society.
James investigates the Pontifex Institute and discovers that it is a cult with beliefs rooted in Bhutan and tulpas. That night, he believes he hears The Empty Man and is plagued by nightmares. He goes to the institute and listens to cult leader Arthur Parsons speak. When Parsons speaks with the leader, he is frightened by his claims that The Empty Man is an entity that gives his followers whatever they want as long as they do his bidding.
James starts to believe he's seeing The Empty Man. He pursues cult members and discovers information on Amanda, her friends, Paul, and himself in a cabin in the woods. James, who is experiencing hallucinations, ambushes cult member Garrett and asks him what is going on. Garrett reports that The Empty Man is transmitting to the cult from a man in the hospital. James realizes, that the man is actually Paul, who is comatose and is visited by cult members, on a regular basis to get messages, from the ghost.
He meets Amanda in Paul's hospital room, where she informs him that Paul is dying from the stress of being the Empty Man, and that the cult is in desperate need of a new vessel. The last true Empty Man died roughly 500 years ago, as Amanda explains in the film's climactic climax. Paul became the next Empty Man when he was escorted to that cave in Bhutan. His mortal body, however, was unable to contain the immense power for an extended period of time, and he has been in a coma for many years. His followers come to him on a regular basis to receive communications from the Between One. However, they have realized that they require a replacement. James was created for this purpose.
James Becomes Tulpa!
Amanda tells James that he is a tulpa, a fresh vessel for the god, and that his memories and connections were made up by her and the cult in order to keep the deity connected through his suffering and grief. James, according to Amanda, has only been alive for a few days. James contacts Nora in shock, but she has no idea who he is. When James collapses, he enters a limbo-like dimension, where the entity inhabits his body. James executes Paul in the hospital. Several members of the hospital staff are gathered around him. They all, bow down to him.
The Aesthetic Nature Of The Pontiff.
Although, the movie rejects the aesthetic sense of the plaintiff, the sensual pleasure comes from the justice of the nature. The Pontiff of the emptiness is seated like a deep thinker, renouncing life of one's own. This Pontiff is found in the caves of Bumthang valley, Bhutan. In the two main sanctuaries of the temple, there are amazing artwork by local painters. They depict the Nyingmapa school of Tantric Buddhism's great religious cycles, with the main statue being a two-story-high clay sculpture of Guru Rinpoche - Padmasambhava. The Pontiff could be related to one such followers. Because, the locals rely on livestock husbandry and crop agriculture, the dwellings are built to accommodate them. The houses are typically two or three stories high. The animals are housed on the ground level, the family lives on the second level, and their crops are stored on the third level. The Yakchoe festival and dances are held in the temple's courtyard, and the statue is only displayed during this festival or once a year. The possibilities of supernatural powers of the Pontiff can be traced deep into the faith of Buddhism around the valley.
The movie fits into adventure drive, mystery solving drive, and horror hindered walkthroughs. Therefore, it is a family entertainer while being an eye-opener of spiritual life through aesthetic sense. Children can be parentally guided through the entire movie. In short, it is a good subject to discuss in a parent-child manner.
