West Ham footbaler Declan Rice has moved on transfer to the mighty home of Arsenal. Scoring 278 goals in his career, he will be a valuable asset to the Arsenal team who are in hope of winning the title next season. Even though Declan Rice was a neccessity to the West Ham team, good things always have to come to an end. Arsenal payed £100M for the sensational player in a hope he can get on the scoreboard for Arsenal. However, we still don't know the response West Ham have about losing such a vital player in hopes to get further up the table. Was it the right decision or not?
Also a new transfer reocrd has been broken by Arsenal easily surpassing the £72M bid to sign Nicolas Pepe from Lile in 2019. A successful transfer window as Arteta is delighted to have a sensational player added to the starting XI. Declan has always played with the Hammers and this is a brand new step to an incredible future with such an incredible superclub. If Arsenal do end up winning the title next season it will be beacuse of Delan's sensational form. Even though he is moving clubs he has still had the loving and caring though of penning a letter to West Ham fans thanking them for everything they have done supporting the club and pushing on from the toughest times from nearly being relegated multiple times, to winning the Europa League for West Ham. The Hammers have promised that he is a star player and that he will have a bright and prosperous future for Arsenal. Even though the £100M transfer has just been confirmed, Declan has also been paid £5M in add ons.
Declan has also responded saying ' I've already had my first day, I feel like I'm at home ' showing that he is enjoying training with the Arsenal team and enjoying the once in a lifetime opportunity to play for such a big club that others have dreamed playing in. Seeing the stadium, coaches and fans must feel great for Declan as he is shown he can go bigger and better playing for West Ham, surely he can do it for Arsenal too.
However, the pressure will definitely take its toll as there are more fans for Arsenal than West Ham which means if you mess up you'll be constantly ridiculed. Take Bukayo Saka's penalty ( ironically against West Ham ) He was racially abused online and was constant;y slaughered in newspapers saying ' what a horendous penalty ' The nerve of playing with such a well known team means tou have to hide your fears and play at the best of your ability, no matter the circumstances. The figures show that there are an outstandng 37M fans supporting Arsenal which is a humungous increase from West Ham ( 700k fans ) I just hope that Declan finds his place at Arsenal and I think we should all wish him the best. The memories he had at West Ham will never be forgotten
