Scarlett Johansson recently announced her decision to work as a producer on the Marvel Cinematic Universe project. Previously, Johansson filed a lawsuit against Disney for showing the Black Widow film in theaters and streaming platforms simultaneously. Even though the character of Scarlett Johansson has ended, the Black Widow actor still chooses to stay at Marvel-Disney. In fact, the 37-year-old actress feels happy working under Marvel-Disney.
"Marvel has some of the best IP [intellectual property] ever and you can really dream big there and nothing gets off the table and you throw all these ideas away and see what sticks," Johansson said.
Scarlett Johansson is known to have worked under Marvel and Disney for the past 10 years. This makes him feel comfortable and have a close relationship with the people who work at the Avengers studio. The Black Widow star further likens working with Marvel to being on a creative playground to seem like a dream. She also details some of the biggest lessons she's learned working at the film industry. According to him, being a producer on future projects allows him to build the kind of team and process he wants to be a part of and move forward. Johansson himself is rumored to be more focused on the production sector, and has even been trusted to be the producer of a Disney film titled Tower of Terror and a sci-fi drama titled Bride. Although netizens have speculated about the film that will be produced by Scarlett Johansson, Marvel -Disney is still keeping the truth of the project a secret. Previously, Johansson made headlines in July when he sued Disney over the company's decision to release Black Widow simultaneously in theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access. In his lawsuit, Johansson claimed the release violated his contract and alleged that Disney had guaranteed him that the film would receive exclusive theatrical release. The actor also thinks he lost more than $50 million due to the double release. Disney and Scarlett Johansson finally chose the path of peace in September.
