The new product is called the Pocket Rocket and is a "naked bike" in which the controls, battery and other elements are hidden inside a V-shaped frame. Currently, it is already possible to place a pre-order for one of the two modifications of the Pocket Rocket.
The founders of SOL Motors began developing the new vehicle back in 2018. Three years later, the result of the work is presented to the public in the form of a hybrid vehicle that integrates the best of electric motorcycles and bicycles. The simplified design of the Pocket Rocket allowed the developers to "hide" the main equipment inside the frame made of high-strength aluminum, which maximally improved the aerodynamic parameters of the vehicle.
The basic model of the Pocket Rocket has a mass of 55 kg, a maximum speed of 45 km/h and a range of 80 kilometers. Pocket Rocket S modification has an increased speed up to 80 km/h, while maintaining an autonomous driving radius of 80 kilometers.
The wheels and the stepping motor built into the rear wheel provide an optimal low center of gravity and give the structure stability when maneuvering. The 2.5 kWh battery is removable and can be easily replaced using the cover with a built-in rear light. It takes 5 hours to fully charge the lithium-ion battery from standard mains and 2 hours when using the quick charger.
The dimensions are the same in both modifications: the length is 1720 mm and the ground clearance is 150 mm. Pocket Rocket is designed for one user, and the seat is attached to the central thickened tube at a height of 820 mm from the surface of the track.
The step motor (5 or 6.5 kW peak power) is capable of generating up to 160 Nm of torque, which allows the Pocket Rocket to quickly gain speed like a rocket. The hydraulic Combined Braking System (CBS) provides high maneuverability and the Braking Energy Recovery System will extend the autonomous operation of the vehicle. 16-inch wheels provide maximum stability and maneuverability. Bright LED headlights in the front and rear provide the driver with good visibility at night.
The Pocket Rocket can already be pre-ordered in the European Union. The base model is priced at 5,980 euros, and the Pocket Rocket S modification at 6,980 euros. The first models will be available to customers as early as spring-summer next year.
