Net worth billionaire founder of Tesla and SpaceX , Elon Musk has just rocketed to USD223 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Musk's skyrocketing wealth came after a deal with investors valued SpaceX at more than $100 billion.
The deal gave Musk an additional $10.6 billion in wealth, thanks to his ownership of the rocket company he founded in 2002 with the goal of colonizing Mars. Meanwhile, billionaire rival Musk, Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com became the No. 2 in the world with USD191.6 billion.
Launching Transport Topics in Monday (11/10/2021) Musk earned about three-quarters of his wealth from Tesla Inc., which he founded in 2003 after making a fortune selling e-commerce site PayPal to eBay Inc. worth USD 1.5 billion.
Meanwhile, Bezos' fortunes saw little change to his fortunes this year as Amazon shares stagnated following the initial post-COVID boom. As such, the net worth gap between Elon Musk and Bezos is now at an all-time high of $30 billion.
Bill Gates' wealth has also dwindled when he transferred his assets to his ex-wife Melinda French Gates. Mark Zuckerberg's net worth also plunged $6 billion in hours earlier this week after Facebook Inc. came under fire amid hours of blackout.
