Often we hear that the possibility of life on Mars is very high. We also get to see such things on social media. But according to scientists, there is another place in our solar system where there is a possibility of life.
That vacationer is Jupiter's second satellite, Europa. Which is far away from the Sun, the planet Jupiter is about 780 million kilometers away from the Sun. Actually Europa is outside the Habitable John of the Solar System. Europa is 671 thousand kilometers away from the planet Jupiter, its orbit around Jupiter is 3 and a half days.
The planet which is unable to rotate on its axis due to any reason or due to the gravity of its star and one part of it always remains towards the planet, which always has light and the other part is always dark. The planet which has such a condition is called tidal lock planet. Here we can assume that Europa is also tidal lock on the side of the master, that is, a part of it always remains towards the master.
sunlight is 25 times fainter at Europa than earth
Scientists believe that the ice sheet that has formed over Europa may have a vast ocean beneath it. According to scientists, such an ice sheet is possible on any recessed material only when there is water under that ice. Because meteorites often fall on any planet or satellite, due to which craters are formed somewhere on the surface of the ice. Usually such craters remain for many times on other planets, but there is no such crater on Europa, this means there may be water under the surface which can regenerate the broken ice sheet due to the crater Because of the water, the pit is again replaced by new ice.
According to the claims of some scientists, there is so much water under the surface of Europa's ice, which is more than the total water in the Earth's ocean. The same thing points to life on Europa. Because we know about Mars that in the past there was probably a river flowing there, due to which there was hope for life, but today that hope is very less because there is no water left. Even on earth, water is very important in our life, perhaps water can be considered as the basic component of life. Because water is the most important in many biochemical processes.
In the mission, the spacecraft will have both narrow angle and wide angle cameras, which will help us understand Europa in a better way
The imaging system will map about 90 percent of Europa at 330 feet (100 meters) per pixel. Apart from this, with the help of Ice Penetrating Radar, we will be able to make a good picture of Europa's surface. Machines that measure both radiation and magnetic field have also been sent in the mission.
Due to the strong radiation of the Guru, all the instruments will be kept in the radiation vault (which is actually a metal box-like structure). Which will keep the instrument of the spacecraft away from the radiation of the planet Jupiter.
Apart from this, there will also be other instruments in the spacecraft such as
mission's imaging spectrometer
ice-penetrating radar
magnetometer
plasma instrument
thermal emission imaging system
ultraviolet spectrograph
mass spectrometer
dust analyzer, etc
To reach Europa, they need MEGA( mars earth gravity assist )
will use
According to NASA, the Europa clipper mission will be launched on October 2024. And NASA claims that by April 2030 it will reach Europa.
We hope that in future the Europa Clipper mission will be successful and we will get more information about Jupiter and its satellites. And we humans will be able to reach any sea outside the earth. And do you know that according to some estimates of scientists, there should be life on Europa.
