Far Cry 6 on PC suffers from poor optimization

A few days ago Ubisoft lifted the embargo on streams and videos on Far Cry 6, and performance tests appeared online. Pre-release tests of the game show disappointing results. Apparently, the project does not use all the processor threads at full capacity. Dark Side of Gaming edition tested the performance in the in-game benchmark - on a PC with RTX 3080 and Intel Core i9 9900K with 16 GB of RAM at 3,600 MHz.

DSoG conducted three tests with ultra graphics settings and different resolutions: 4K, 2K, and 1080p. In none of them it was possible to squeeze more than 90 frames per second on the top configuration. And in 4K there are strange drawdowns for no good reason. Judging by the figures, the game uses all cores and processor threads, but far from at full capacity. Therefore, even in Full HD the performance is limited by the CPU, not the graphics card. According to the magazine, the developers will be able to fix this problem in future updates with a low-level API in DirectX 12, which will help optimize the load on the processor.
