Five signs of a stupid man

In life we have to communicate with different people: some of them are interesting to us, and with someone else the communication does not bring any pleasure. Few people like to communicate with stupid people, but the assessment of other people's intelligence or lack thereof will be different for each of us.

There are no universal questions that can help you immediately determine which camp the interlocutor belongs to - to the smart or the beautiful, as the anecdote. But your gut feelings are unlikely to fail you.

As a rule, we unmistakably guess whether the person in front of us is smart or stupid, so I was a little surprised by a question from one of the readers. On the channel there is an article about the five signs of high intelligence, in the comments one person asked, but what are the signs to determine the lack of intelligence or its low level?

Each of us will be guided by their own criteria, I venture to offer you mine, the way I determine that I am dealing with a little bit more stupid than me.

So, five signs of a stupid person.

1. Talks only about himself, does not know how to listen, interrupts, speaks loudly in a public place, dedicates too personal things. A portrait of a rude person appears, but upbringing to me is also about #intelligence, so I don't see any contradiction here. It's hard to communicate with people who don't follow the basic rules of communication.

2. Black and white thinking. If I have an adult in front of me who doesn't allow for the idea that halftones exist, who is convinced that there are only two opinions, his and the wrong one, that to me is a marker of stupidity. I understand that as a teenager #thinking can be too categorical, seeing the world only in black or only in white, but as an adult we begin to understand the diversity of this life's palette. We learn to hear and understand other people's point of view, to consider other people's experiences, to respect them, we can enrich ourselves in our communication with each other. If a person has not learned this yet, I do not perceive him/her as intelligent.

3. does not understand humor. Laughter brings people together, if people laugh at something together, it can cause sympathy between them. And if they laugh at the same thing, they have something in common. There are times when you make a joke and the person you're talking to doesn't take your jokes at all and they're not laughing at all. For me, this sign is optional rather than basic. It is the last thing I will pay attention to, because my sense of humor is quite peculiar. But I know a lot of people for whom it is very principled.

4. Not having my own position, my own opinion. Having one's own opinion on an issue under discussion is important to me, especially when a person can argue it rationally, not emotionally. People who are weathercocks, changing their opinions five times a day, clearly do not relate to the intelligent.

5. The same story on and off. I knew a young man who told everyone, "You are very smart, kind and handsome." That was what he said to everyone and always because of his intellectual defect. The young man was mentally handicapped. But there are people who have a habit of telling the same story five hundred times to the same people. It doesn't bother them that everyone has already heard the story, that no one is interested in it anymore, and that it is irrelevant. They persist in telling it as if it were the first time, and they don't even realize that it's time to stop doing it.

Whether a person is smart or stupid does not depend on age, sex, position, or social status. In my opinion, it is a complex characteristic that determines whether we like #communication or not.

Sometimes it happens that you seem to have grown up in different cultures, in different times, think in different categories, but you are very interesting with each other. It's about different experiences, but not about different intellectual levels. For example, just because a person doesn't know what a pager or an Advent calendar is, doesn't make him stupid.
