Andrey Shapovalyants, chairman of the board of directors of the KamAZ automobile plant, former Minister of Economy, has died of coronavirus. This is reported by "Moskovsky Komsomolets". He was treated in the 52nd city hospital in Moscow.
Andrey Shapovalyants served as Minister of Economy from 1998 to 2000. In 1981, he completed his postgraduate studies at the Plekhanov Moscow Institute of National Economy with a PhD in Economics. Until 1993, he served as Deputy Minister of Economy of Russia. Since 2000, Andrey Shapovalyants was the chairman of the board of directors of the KamAZ automobile plant, and since 2007 - the general director of OJSC "Management company" Murmansk transport hub ".
