Former UFC fighter Brian Gassaway has died at the age of 49

At the funeral of the ex-UFC fighter, a fundraiser was announced through crowdfunding

 

Mixed martial arts fighter, former UFC fighter, participant of World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC), King of the Cage, Iron Heart Crown, Shooto and Pancrase Bellator Brian Gassaway died at the age of 49 on October 18. A fundraiser has been announced for his funeral on the GoFundMe crowdfunding platform.

 

"It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and mentor Brian Gassaway. Very few people have the courage to follow their dreams. Brian was one of them," the message about the athlete's death says.

 

During the day, more than $ 13 thousand were collected on the crowdfunding platform. The cause of death of the athlete is not reported.

 

Gassaway, a fighter, has more than 50 professional MMA fights and many kickboxing and Thai boxing competitions in his piggy bank. Brian was one of the most experienced fighters and trainers in the world. During his career, he won 29 victories with 20 defeats.

 

In 2018, he was inducted into the Illinois Martial Arts Hall of Fame. In honor of Gassaway's contribution to the art of Thai boxing in America, his nominal award was established.

 

At the end of August, it became known that 30-year-old MMA fighter Kyle Reyes died after he underwent surgery to repair a torn left bicep. The athlete was infected with an infection that killed him in a day.
