These thoughts keep replaying in our minds.

Spending time in nature can have a profound impact on your emotional and mental well-being. Research has shown that consciously spending time in nature can help to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Nature has a healing energy to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Mother Nature helps to reduce mind-chatter by helping us to be in the present moment. More the beauty of nature boosts our emotional and mental well-being.

Here are a few practices that can be implemented in our daily life to reduce stress levels and anxiety with mindful and consistent efforts:

  1. Going for a walk: Taking breaks from daily chores and walking can be an effective exercise. Walking bare-footed in the grass is an effective way to stay grounded and deeply rounded to mother earth. It helps to reduce overthinking and get clarity of thoughts. It becomes more effective when practiced during early morning hours. One can choose to travel to mountains, hills, or even a local park.
  2. Being mindful: When we are in the midst of nature, we should try to focus our attention on our surroundings rather than concentration on our mental thought especially the negative thought and past traumatic events
  3. Digital detox:  It is highly recommended that while we spend time in nature we should  be detached from electronic gadgets like phones, and tablets, and switch off notifications so that we can fully stay connected to mother nature for sometime
  4. Being open to outdoor activities:  Based on one's physical condition one can try hiking, rock climbing, tricking, cycling, and pottery. These practices allow us to step outside our comfort zone and build our morale and confidence level. One can also pick up a favorite past time or hobby and passion
  5. Gardening: one can start gardening as a hobby to stay connected with nature. In case space is a crisis then one can utilize a balcony or terrace to create a herb or kitchen garden to keep grounded with nature
  6. Welcoming nature indoors:  We can create a relaxing environment indoors in your sitting area, balcony or reading space with air-purifying plants. This is will help to create a calming and soothing surrounding when you are unable to step outside your home

Implementing these small changes in our daily life is a self-care ritual. These rituals do not require major changes in our daily schedule, just by incorporating minute changes we can see positive shifts.
