Being the only child in the family she received the joy and love of both parents
After joining campus, the only ambition she had was to complete her studies until she met Joseph. In most cases we would say love at first sight but sometimes if the love was not well breeded it could turn into infatuation and then obsession.
Their love grew like a seed into a plantation day in day out. She became pressured and influenced to venture into premature sex. on the other hand Joseph had the same influence from his friend who was an " expertise" in matters sex. With pressures from both corners they then did it. With the happiness of being deflowered, grace enjoyed her little escapade of loosing her virginity like the rest of her peers. It becomes a habit until one day they forgot to apply the normal measures in sex and that is the use of protection. They were both alarmed after grace began to vomit it was later then that grace realized she had missed her periods. Without any other alternative she decided to inform Joseph of what would soon become a responsibility for both of them. Poor Grace imagined the kind of reception she would generate if she decided to come clean with her parents who would soon become disappointment in their faces. The same disappointment she had imagined to receive from her parents wasn't what she had imagined she would attract from the 'love of her life ' Joseph. It appeared that Joseph wasn't really what she had imagined, he turned into someone different upon encountering that he would soon be a father, a responsibility he wasn't prepared for. With low self esteem and her hopes being shuttered In what she thought could become her way out, Grace opted to run from home. She knew how hostile her father could become and it was with that reason same. Escaping to a village unknown to her, she took everything with her and left no message of her whereabouts. Depression and suicidal thoughts played their way into her head , she couldn't resist the urge to put an end to everything after all she had nothing to hope for. Getting to the village, the first encounter was an ocean, she walked slowly by slowly, inside her was an empty surge. She felt relentless urge of bitterness run down her spine. What was importance of living anyway, what was she clinging onto, those kind of questions kept vibrating on and forth and regrets of why she gave up everything for one guy who wasn't worth it. She threw herself into the pool to drown only for Simon who spotted her from a distance spotted her and came to her rescue. Simon was a fisherman who despite his great fishing skills he was an attractive young man who lured many ladies into liking him. Simon had no girlfriend, he had placed his attention only in his work and nothing would make him divert his attention but that changed after his first encounter with Grace. Her beauty was a charm that he couldn't comprehend. He pumped her off and gave her some air with no response of waking up, it's then that he decides to take her to his dad who is a medicine man. Simon's dad was shocked beyond words upon his first encounter with Grace. She resembled Simon's late mom and according to their traditions if there is that kind of resemblance it only meant that the spirit of Simon's mom was living in Grace.
