Japanese two-wheeler brand Honda has launched the Africa Twin Adventure Sports 2022 Africa Twin Adventure Sports. The bike gets a new paint scheme. As before, the Africa Twin Adventure is available in manual and DCT variants.
The bike gets a reset console. Although the 6.5-inch touchscreen TFT display is similar, it now supports Apple Car Play as well as Android Auto.
The overall design and bodywork of the bike are the same, but the redesigned windscreen for the new Africa Twin Adventure Sport is 75mm shorter vertically and 97mm shorter diagonally. This will help to improve the visibility. And the screen can be adjusted to five positions without the need for tools.
The 99.2hp, 103Nm, 1082.96cc liquid-cooled 8-valve parallel twin engine remains the same. As before, the India-spec engine produces 1.5hp less than the international market. The six-speed manual transmission also continues. But the dual clutch DCT automatic gearbox gets a programming change that promises smoother engagement in both first and second gears.
The Africa Twin is packed with electronic features and rider assists, including a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU), two-channel ABS, traction control and Bluetooth connectivity. The MT and DCT variants come with four riding modes. Tour, urban, gravel and off-road. Both customizable settings are available.
Dual-LED headlamps have a cornering function. As it is a great adventure sport, the fuel tank is 24.5 liters per unit. The bike also has cross-laced spoke wheels that support tubeless tires.
The 2022 Africa Twin is only available in one color per model. MT Pearl Glare White tricolor and AT Matte Ballistic Black Metallic. The standard bike is currently priced at Rs 16.01 lakh, an increase of Rs 40,000, but the AT remains priced at Rs 17.5 lakh (both exclusive showroom, Gurugram).

In the year 2006, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India launched the first Shine motorcycle. Honda says it has been performing well in the Shine market for the past several years. In the two years since its first launch, it has become the best-selling 125cc motorcycle. The first 10 lakh customers sought the bike in 54 months. By 2013, every third 125cc motorcycle sold in the country had a shine. In 2014, the bike crossed the 30 lakh sales milestone. By 2018, every second sold was a 125cc motorcycle with a shine. In December 2020, Honda Shine had already crossed the 90 lakh milestone. The company says that the main reason for Shine's popularity is that it receives updates from time to time. The main competitors of the bike are Bajaj Discover 125, Hero Glamor i3 and Bajaj Pulsar 125.
