Teaching is an art and there are certain steps you have to follow during teaching process. You need to memorize 5e of teaching, i.e., engage, explore, explain, elaborate and evaluate.

I shall tell you a story to memorize these 5e's of teaching. After reading this story, you will be able to learn 5e's that are necessary to memorize while delivering a lecture in the classroom. So let's start reading a story of 5e's of teaching.

There is a young handsome boy and a young beautiful girl. They are engaged with each other. The girl says to the boy, let's go outside and try to explore something. They both go outside and they see a tower. The girl asks the boy to explain something about the tower. The boy tries his best and explains what he knows about that tower. Then they see a security guard standing under the tower. They both request him to elaborate about the tower and this is how they both come to know about the details of that tower. At the end, the boy evaluates the girl by asking certain questions about the tower.

This story enables the teachers to memorize the 5e's of teaching. A teacher should know that first, he/she has to engage the students, then give them opportunity to explore, and then let them explain. After the students explain, then they have to elaborate and evaluate at the end.

Now, it is very important to learn the 5e's of teaching step by step. So let's know how to engage the students. The first step in the teaching process is to engage the students. In this part of the lecture, the teacher connects the previous knowledge of the students with the current knowledge. The teacher asks the questions from the students. This is basically a warm-up exercise in the beginning of the lecture.

In the second part of the lecture, the teacher uses the 2nd e of teaching, i.e., explore. Now the teacher makes small groups or teams of the students and guides them to explore the lesson by themselves with the help of text books, charts, diagrams, projects or models.

In the third part of the lecture, the teacher uses the 3rd e of teaching, i.e., explain. Now teacher invites students from different groups one by one and asks to explain that what they have explored. Here the teacher remains passive but keen observer and the students remain active. The teacher guides and corrects the students while they explain.

In the fourth part of the lecture, the teacher uses the 4th e of teaching, i.e., elaborate. Now the teacher encourages the students to elaborate. In this part the students learn the application of the lesson, means how to apply the lesson what they have learned through asking when, why and how.

In the fifth part of the lecture, the teacher uses the 5th e of teaching, i.e., evaluation. Now the teacher evaluates the students by asking different questions to access that what they have learned.
