How to be an effective writer?

Do you want to be a good writer? Yes, we want to be a good writer. In fact, everyone have similar thoughts inside their heads. Writing is neither tough, nor easy, but how much you prepare yourself for the task, matters. We always try to write our thoughts, and we often consider our written work a “Waste Product.” This type of self-doubt becomes self-destructive thing in our lives. If we don’t value what we write or what we represent before the particular audience then we don’t have the right to write. Self-doubt kills our confidence and let our heart and mind feel humiliation. If we talk about world’s best writers like Stephen king, J.K. Rowling, etc. they always have been frequently criticized, but they never felt deprived and kept writing. So, no one is a good writer because only you can make yourself a good writer. “Good Writing” concept to me is a fabrication and fantasy because you always need someone who could help us to find the errors. However, we make our writing effective instead of good.

We will talk about some effective techniques one needs to get into writing. These techniques if adopted perfectly would take you to the world of effective writing. So, here are 6 steps to be an effective writer.

READING

As we all know without the help of words we can never write a single word. Vocabulary plays vital and most significant role whenever we start writing. To be a good, rather effective writer, we need create a habit of reading. Reading helps us to get new words, phrases, idioms, and we can use them whenever needed. If you want to be a writer without reading then trust me this is as similar as person without oxygen. We always need input and with the help of that input we can create amazing stuffs. So, reading habit should be our primitive responsibility. It allows us to grab the ideas and manipulate if for the future use; it simply gives us the hint how to be a good writer.

REQUIREMENT OF SENIOR EDITOR

A good writer, after writing a piece requires help to make his/her work more influential and effective. When I was into writing, I used to get in touch with senior and trustworthy editors after finishing my work. Editing is a kind of job which we can’t do by own, and that’s why we need someone who could edit our work, find errors, rectify the diverted flow, enhance word power, underline mistakes, and then we get to know where we are wrong. This allows us to work on the mistakes, and then we follow the same rules and techniques in future to be a good and effective writer. So, put your ego aside and look for a trustworthy editor and make your work polished and flawless.

GRABBING IDEAS

We are always in the need of ideas or clues to write a good story or a book. A good writer is always in hunt to grab new ideas, and such writers are always in search for creative input. So, for that you need to be creative, as we all know ideas and hints are inspirations for ardent lovers of writing. While travelling, playing, etc. keep a little notebook with you to write ideas, as ideas do come all of a sudden. So, be ready and prepared to grab every bit and expand or use those ideas in your own work.

WRITE NOT EVERY DAY, BUT AFTER EVERY SECOND

We cannot ignore or avoid this part. It is important. You can never be a good writer without practices. Practice makes us a good writer. What we need to do is write, write and write after every second, minute, hour and a day. Every single minute is recorded; don’t ever try to avoid this thing because consistency can lead us to our destination. Make sure you write and make this your habit!

REPRODUCE THINGS

This part is very essential for all of us. Whatever we write need to be reproduced to make it well polished and crystal clear. This part simply purifies what we write? Yes, this is ugly, but important too. It always gives us an insight, or we can say chance to clear and rectify our mistakes. So, rewrite what you write. It is necessary for you to be the first editor of your work.

BE THE JUDGE BEFORE APPROACHING EDITOR

You need to be the first editor or judge of your work before approaching editor. It allows you to solve your grammatical errors, word formation, punctuation and other minor mistakes as well. Observe patience and check your work thoroughly and then proceed. Don’t try to be a writer only, but try to be editor as well.
