Windows defender is a built in antivirus so it protects your pc with realtime protection againist software threads like virus , malware and infected apps in your pc. If it detected any unwanted threads it cannot access into the folders. Although built-in antivirus is in pc, but people go with more protection to their pc with number of scenarios i.e MC AFEE, K7 ,AVAST, QUICK HEAL etc.,.
If you must disable your antivirus, undeterred the risks of leaving your pc to harmful threads.
So there are many ways to turn off the windos defender. Here some are:
Turn off Windows Defender through Security centre.
Turn off Windows Defender through Registry.
Turn off Windows Defender through LGP (Local Group Policy).
Turn off Windows Defender through settings or Security centre.(Temporary action)
1.Open Security Centre by settings or through run.
2.Click on virus & thread protection settings.
3.Turn off the Real-time protection switch.
If you done this you will able to install your software without any errors.
Turn off Windows Defender through Registry.
NOTE: we recommend you to create a short restore point to restore it in future actions.
1.Use shortcut key windows +r and type regedit.
2.navigate to the following.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>POLICIES>MICROSOFT>WINDOWS DEFENDER.
3.Click emty area,click new,click dword 32bit value,and then type DisableAntiSpyware ,set value data as 1,click OK and close it.
Turn off Windows Defender through LGP (Local Group Policy).
NOTE: THIS IS FOR ONLY WINDOWS 10 PRO USERS ONLY.
1.Type Gpedit.msc in run and click OK.
2. Navigate to the following:
COMPUTER CONFIGURATION>ADMINISTRATIVE TEPMLATES>WINDOWS COMPONENTS>WINDOWS DEFENDER.
3.Double click on turn off windows and chose Enabled then apply it.
If you are trying to install new third paty anti virus applications windows defender will automatically turn off itself.
