REASONS WHY A TEACHER SHOULD POSSESS THE ABOVE QUALITIES.
1. A teacher is called to serve the children and must therefore be humble to do that and also tolerate any form of nuisance coming from them.
2. A teacher being patient is one of the qualities one must possess as a teacher because not all children are highly intelligent, some of them have a very slow way of comprehending so therefore such children should be given more time to comprehend and that is where patience comes in.
3. Sincerity is one of the keys to being a good teacher that is the ability of a teacher to tell a child he or she is doing badly without hesitation.
4. The best way to treat a child and be close to them is by being affectionate for them to be able to talk to you freely when they are disturbed or uncomfortable with something.
5. Teaching is not all about standing in front of the classroom and putting on a nice dress, it's all about how you influence a child's learning and this can only happen when there is passion, there is a big difference between passing information and passing knowledge.
6. Children do certain things because they see people, especially adults doing them, so a teacher must be at his or her best character for the children to emulate.
7. Teaching does not end in the classroom, it extends even outside the classroom. It is not proper to be comfortable because a child is doing so well in school, sometimes have a heart-to-heart talk with the child to find out if he or she is emotionally okay.
8. As a teacher teaches in class it is important to make sure that every student understands what is being taught. If one student happens to be lagging then that topic should be repeated.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF STUDENTS AND HOW THEY SHOULD BE FOLLOWED AND TAUGHT.
1. THE STUBBORN STUDENTS.
This category of students is the type that does not do what they are told or they do the opposite purposely. Using force on them is a huge mistake because all they'll want to do is to spite you for correcting them, showing them that you can be stubborn too is another thing you should not do because they will see you as a competitor to their stubbornness. The most interesting thing about these types of students is that they are always shy in the classroom, so the best way of making them do what they are supposed to do is by giving them tasks in front of the class in that manner their rate of stubbornness will reduce as they do not want to be called in front of the class for any task especially when it involves speeches.
2. THE BODY IS PRESENT AND THE MIND IS ABSENT STUDENTS.
This type of student is easily distracted by every little thing, it's as if their minds are in another world aside from the classroom. Most times they end up not hearing what was said in class. The best way to handle such students is by first not allowing he or them to sit behind in class, sitting behind in class has a high tendency for them to relax as no attention is given to them. The best thing to do is for them to sit in the first row in class right in front of the teacher where their eyes can be on them, not only that, a series of questions should be asked frequently to such students to make sure they are focused.
3. OVERCONFIDENT STUDENTS.
This type of student is highly intelligent and smart too but has a high tendency to have xenophobia for failure, they are always too confident that when they fail, they can go into depression or see themselves as failures. The best way of helping such students is by first of all making him or they understand that failing means retracing your steps and knowing where you got it wrong, the teacher should make them understand that failing should be seen as a challenge instead.
4. LAZY STUDENTS.
This student can either be intelligent or dull. This type of student is very hard to help, you can say that they are a little bit stubborn because they never want to do schoolwork even if they understand what was taught in class, they either want to sleep, eat, play or surprisingly read a book not related to schoolwork, they just want to relax. This type of student is very difficult to handle. They might not even be in school most time because they are too lazy to wake up early and prepare for school. This type of student needs the parent's help to at least get them to school. This type of student loves their comfort zone and must always be given tasks to do and avoid them to stay idle for long.
