How to make a delicious sour cream cake at home

To make Smeannik cake, first you need to bake two cakes - a light and a dark one.

For the light cake for the Smeetannik cake we will need the following ingredients:

2 eggs,

0.5 cup sugar,

0.5 cup sour cream,

1 teaspoon of baking soda,

1 cup extra virgin flour.

Beat the eggs with the sugar. Add baking soda to sour cream and stir to double the mass. Pour it into eggs and sugar and mix. Add flour and mix gently.

Pour the cake batter into the mold. Bake in a preheated oven at 180-200 degrees for about 30-35 minutes. Check if it is ready with a wooden stick. Leave it to cool.

 

Now let's prepare a dark cake for Smeannik cake. For it we will need the following ingredients:

2 eggs,

0.5 cup sugar,

0.5 cup of sour cream,

1 teaspoon of baking soda,

1 cup extra flour,

1-1.5 tablespoons cocoa powder

Prepare the dough for the second cake in the same way as for the first, only with the addition of cocoa. Bake and cool the second cake.

 

While both cake layers are cooling, prepare the sour cream cream. For this we will need the following ingredients:

1 cup sour cream,

1 cup sugar.

Pour the sugar into the sour cream. Let stand a little so that the sugar dissolves. Then whip until fluffy.

 

When the cake is cold, cut it horizontally into two layers. Trim the edges and use the scraps to sprinkle the cake.

 

Spread the sour cream on all the layers. Shape the sour cream cake by alternating the light and dark cakes. Brush the edges with the remaining cream. Sprinkle the Smezannik cake with crumbs or decorate as you wish. Let the sour cream cake stand at least overnight.
