How to make Chicken Samosa at home?

Ingredients

 4 people
  1. 300 gm boneless chicken cubes
  2. 20 Samosa readymade sheets
  3. Marinate chicken
  4. 1/2 tsp salt
  5. 1/2 tsp pepper powder
  6. 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  7. Samosa Filling
  8. 300 gms fried chicken
  9. 1 medium onion
  10. 2-3 green chillies
  11. 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  12. 1/2 tsp garlic paste
  13. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  14. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  15. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  16. 1/2 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  17. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  18. 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  19. 1/4 tsp salt
  20. 1/4 sugar to taste
  21. 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  22. Other
  23. 4 cups vegetable oil
  24. 2 tbsp maida
  25. 5 tbsp Water

 

Steps

  1. I used readymade Samosa dough sheets - around 20 sheets as my main attraction here is the chicken stuffing. Marinate the boneless chicken with salt, pepper powder and 1/2 tsp lemon juice for 10 mins and deep fry in vegetable oil.

  2. Use same oil in the kadai, add cut onions, ginger and garlic paste, chopped green chillies and sauté. Next add the spices - garlic, coriander,cumin and garam masala powder. Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder and 1/2 tsp salt and sugar. Add the fried chicken pieces.Add 3 tbsp water and cover and cook.

  3. Once the water evaporates add 1/2 tsp lemon juice and 1 tbsp butter and stir again. Allow to cool and use a fork to shred the pieces and you can use a grinder also to mince. I did not use minced chicken as I deep fried the chicken prior.

     
  4. Now in a bowl take 2 tbsp maida and 1 tsp water and mix without lump. We will use this to seal our samosas after we do the chicken stuffing. Then take a single sheet and fold making a cone and add 1 tbsp of the stuffing and seal with the maida paste.

  5. Heat vegetable oil in a fresh kadai for deep frying and carefully slide the Samosa one by one and fry on both sides till crispy and golden brown

  6. Strain the excess oil and enjoy with hot masala tea
