STEP 1:
How to make a classic Potato Cake? Prepare the products. Cookies usually take the simplest sugar type of Jubilee, for tea. But a lot of people make with whatever you have on hand: oatmeal, galette, biscuit. I always make only with traditional, so what flavor you get with other, I do not know. Choose real condensed milk, no milk fat substitutes. The same goes for butter. Take it out of the fridge beforehand, it should become soft.
STEP 2:
Chop the cookies any way you like. I have a handy large food processor that holds a lot of food at once, I chop in it. Some people prefer a meat grinder, which, by the way, is how cookies were made in my childhood. Or you can do with a simple rolling pin. Put the cookies in a thick bag and beat them with a rolling pin. In this case, the crumbs will be quite coarse, which, however, will not affect the taste of the cakes.
STEP 3:
Put the soft butter and condensed milk in a bowl. Using a fork, stir them until they are creamy. You can, of course, take a mixer, but in this recipe it is not important - the state of the cream can be anything, it will not affect the final result. And you still have to wash the mixer. Instead of a fork you can use a whisk.
STEP 4:
Sprinkle the cookie crumbs into the buttercream. Stir the ingredients with the same fork until completely smooth.
STEP 5:
The batter will be thick enough to be molded.
STEP 6:
Sprinkle the cocoa powder on a plate. Make an oblong cake out of the dough. Roll it in cocoa on all sides and put it on parchment. In general, the shape of potatoes can be anything - both oval and round. You can make them look as much like a potato as possible - make irregular tubers.
STEP 7:
Put the finished chocolate potatoes in the refrigerator for at least an hour. The butter should cool well and solidify, which will make the cakes firmer. They will be easier and tastier to eat. Before serving, the potatoes can be decorated - with cream, chocolate, sprinkles.
