How to make money legally and realistically in America, without leaving home

For thousands of ideas for making money from home, there are no more than a hundred legal options. And those that are legal and will work are barely a few dozen. The ideas that will appear on DiasporaNews every day for a week are sure to work! You may never have heard of many, but it's worth believing and checking out.

Become a Driver Uber partner

If you find solace on the road and enjoy finding the best route to get across town, there's a great way to make money!

As an Uber contractor, you are responsible for your schedule and your motivation to work - no one controls you. You get 80% of everything you earn as a driver (Uber keeps 20%).

If you want to try it, there are a few things to keep in mind. You must be at least 21 years old with 3 years of driving experience. Have your state driver's license, a clean driving record and be able to pass a criminalcheckbackground check.

Finally, your vehicle must be 4 doors, have at least four passenger seats (excluding the driver), be registered in your state, and have your state's insurance coverage.

Sell your "junk mail."

I don't know about you, but I get a lot of junk mail. My email and regular mailboxes are both full of junk from various cable providers, credit card offers, car insurance, etc.

If you've ever wondered what you could do with all that junk mail other than recycle it or move it to your email junk folder, the SBC Center knows the answer. This research company will happily accept your junk mail and e-mail, in turn exchanging it for a VISA card, which works just like a debit card.

(The SBK website claims that they pay you with gift cards, but I contacted SBK directly and they confirmed that they have switched to prepaid Visa cards. This is a great move because it means you can spend your hard-earned money anywhere that accepts debit cards .)

Earn $250 on opening a second bank account

We've put together a huge list of banks that will pay you just to open a bank account! Some of them will pay you up to $250 just to open a savings account!

There is no harm in having multiple bank accounts. In fact, I see the benefit of keeping my savings in different places(and less likely to touch the money), so I have separate savings accounts for my Christmas fund and vacation fund.

The biggest bonus is now $250. to see all the banks in your area that offer spare cash.

Watch More Television.

Okay, just listen to this offer. It's certainly possible to get paid to watch TV ... A new company called "RewardTV" pays you to answer simple questions about the previous night's TV shows.

Do you know who they "killed off" on Game of Thrones last week? Tell them that, and they'll pay you.

Do you know which contestant dropped out of this week's TV show? They will pay you.

You won't get rich, but it's an interesting way to get an extra $20-$15-$/month. Great, isn't it?

Rent/Sell Clothes Online

For some reason, the suit I wore to prom almost 10 years ago still hangs in my closet. I won't be able to wear it anymore, but out of laziness and the nostalgic memories associated with it, I still haven't taken it to Goodwill.

If you, like me, have a closet full of things you don't wear, what would you think about renting out or selling your clothes?

There are several sites that make this possible including Tradesy,SnapGoods.com, Loanables.com, and RentNotBuy.com.

Edit Google Search Results.

I'll get about $700 this month for cleaning up Google's search engine. And Yahoo, AND Bing.

And the best part? Most of that money is earned sitting at home in my pajamas. What am I doing? Let me explain...

Search engines use complicated algorithms to determine the results you see. For example, if you type "Steve Gillman" into the Google search box, perhaps half a million relevant Web pages will be narrowed down using various criteria and in a second you'll see a picture of me with a smile on my face. You'll also see links to my personal website, my Huffington Post blog, and LinkedIn profiles and a bunch of guys who share my first and last name.

But search engines don't always get queries right ...

The data is full of errors, so they need real people to look at the results and evaluate their quality, relevance and usefulness. If you're interested in this type of work, this article, more information on how to apply

Submit your grocery shopping receipts and get a discount

You don't have to save money on grocery store purchases if you know the right tricks. Have you heard of discount programs?

My favorite app, Ibottaapp, gives you a discount on your grocery shopping if you take a picture of the receipt with your smartphone.

Many discounts apply to items such as steak, minced meat, bread and eggs.  You can also shop at your local grocery store. No need to drive across town to save money.

Other good SavingStar & Checkout apps51 Download them. Sometimes you can get three discounts on the same item.

Sell your old books.

We all have a lot of unnecessary things that are just taking up space. Get rid of some of those things and you'll have extra money for Christmas shopping.

Sure, you can hold a garage sale or sell some items on Craigslist, but one of my favorite ways to get rid of junk items is to use the Bookscouter app...

Scan your book's barcode with your smartphone and Bookscouter lets you compare payments to 20+ different companies that buy back books. Cool, isn't it?

Once you choose a company to buy back your books you simply fill out a little form, providing information about where you want your payment sent and have your books ready to go.Most of these companies also offer prepaid shipping, so you won't have any costs associated with the sale.
