Despite the fact that the U.S. took out the big stick and hit Huawei pretty hard with it, the company is still going strong. However, the sanctions have significantly affected the Chinese manufacturer, its share of the smartphone market is rapidly shrinking and it is unable to buy 5G chips. The company's 4G-only devices do not allow it to seriously compete with other companies.
Naturally, Huawei is not happy with this state of affairs. The company wants to release its own chipsets. Derek Yu, president of the manufacturer's consumer division, said that one day 5G chips will return to the company's smartphones. At the moment, experts at the company's Shanghai R&D centre are working on new 5G processors. If all the plans come to fruition, Huawei's fifth-generation mobile phones will return to the market in the future.
The top manager of the company emphasized that they will not give up the premium P and Mate lines, and also plan to further develop smartphones with flexible screens. It was also confirmed that Huawei smartphones with pre-installed Harmony OS operating system will appear on the European market next year.
