I missed you, look out the window.

In 2017, Katya got married. Her chosen one was Andrei, a handsome, kind, attentive guy. They studied at the same institute. It was love at first sight. Katya told me how handsomely he courted her. Sometimes he called right in the middle of the night: "I missed you, look out the window. Katya would open the sash and a bouquet of wild flowers would fly in.

They had a modest wedding right after graduation. They were such a beautiful couple. On the bride's side there were many guests: parents, relatives, friends, and classmates. On the groom's side there was only one friend. And he left the ceremony soon afterwards. It seemed strange to me at the time, but I didn't say anything to my sister. She was very happy.

The young couple decided to live separately from their parents and rented a studio apartment. Andrei got a good job, although he often had to go on business trips. Katya said that that night Andrei came home late, was excited, nervously looked out the window, as if he was waiting for someone. And then, without saying a word, jumped out of the apartment. He was gone all night. Katya called her cell phone, but it turned out that the cell phone was left lying on the nightstand. Andrew came back only in the morning, and he looked very strange: his shirt was dirty, there were pine needles and dry leaves in his hair, his cheek was scratched...

He said he had met some old friends and had gone to a bar and had a few too many drinks. They walked home through the park. There he became ill and does not remember anything else.

After that, everything was fine with Katya and Andrei for a while. Her sister even started to think about having a baby, but something happened that no one expected. Katya's former classmate invited his friends to spend the weekend at his grandfather's place in a remote forest camp. The forester welcomed the guests cordially, but his dog, his hair puffed up and growling muffled, huddled in his kennel, and then ran away altogether. We walked through the woods, sat around the fire and went to bed.

The next day the guys went hunting with Ilya Mikhalych, and the girls went on a quiet hunt, for mushrooms. In the evening the guys were gone for a long time. It had already become dark. They returned gloomy, very tired. All except Andrei. He disappeared. Without a trace. No one noticed when. They looked for him for a long time, but in vain. They got the police, rescue workers looking for him. No luck.

So a month passed. Katya kept visiting the forester. She kept asking if there was any news about Andrei. Ilya Mikhalych said that there were different rumors, but he never said what kind.

Katya decided to go to Andrei's mother and report her son's disappearance. What she told me shocked first Katya and then me when my sister told me everything she had learned from her mother-in-law.

Their neighbor and classmate Ivan had invited Andrei to spend the last vacation before his senior year at his grandmother's place, in a Belarusian village surrounded by forests. During World War II fierce battles had been fought here.

The boys spent all their days in the woods. They were fascinated by the excavation of war trophies. One night they were far from the village. They got lost, and for a long time wandered through the thickets. But when they finally came to a familiar road, a misfortune happened. On one of the hills in the background of a huge round moon suddenly appeared the silhouette of a large animal. With a uterine growl it rushed towards them. Ivan ran to the bunker they had recently inspected and squeezed inside, but Andrei did not have time. Ivan heard his friend scream... But when all was quiet and the guy got out of his hiding place, he didn't find his buddy's body.

In the afternoon the whole village went on the alert. They searched for the boy for two days. On the third, he came in on his own. Didn't say where he was. He said he didn't remember. He was covered with wolf fur, with blood in some places, but there were no wounds. Since then, at the full moon Andrew began to disappear, and in the neighborhood were found the remains of different animals, shreds of wolf fur...

After hearing this, Katya finally lost her peace. She again went to the ranger. The following is from Katya's words.

"The full moon illuminated with a pale light a huge field, a freshly mowed backyard, at the edges of which stood wooden feeders with sheds. I walked there - to the border of the light and the blackening strip of woods. I passed the fence. A chilling howl sounded nearby, and suddenly two red fire-eyes darted toward me. I ran as fast as I could, but the beast was catching up with me. I heard it coming from the side. I thought to myself, "He wants to cut off the road to the gatehouse. I was out of breath, out of energy. Suddenly a shot rang out in the silence of the night. In the dark doorway stood Ilya Mikhalych. I fell down in surprise. When I turned around, I saw a huge beast that looked like a wolf, but was much bigger, jumped up high, then landed on the ground and quickly disappeared. Disappeared into the darkness.

The forester took me into the house, started to drink a strong tincture. He left me in the house for the night, and in the morning he told me to get out of here as fast as I could, and never come back.
