The release of Battlefield 2042 was marred by bugs, technical problems, lack of familiar mechanics and lack of content. This quickly affected the game's rating: it now has only 2.2 points on Metacritic. But as it turns out, some gameplay bugs can make players happy.
One Reddit user discovered that the Breakaway map has a non-standard way to use a repair tool that almost no one in the game uses. It can be used to replenish the health of penguins, which act as atmospheric scenery.
According to some speculation, the game regards penguins as vehicles, so it became possible to "repair" them. This does not give players any bonuses, and the penguins themselves are not particularly responsive to the unexpected "treatment. However, it's funny, and the developers are even asked not to fix this bug.
A new announcement of DICE faced the opposite reaction: in Battlefield 2042 we are going to add the cowboy and Santa Claus skins. And the players remembered that these skins appeared in the feedback section in March, and then the players amicably voted against them.
Meanwhile, the game continues to lose players, and Electronic Arts has already made a reshuffle in the management: DICE general manager Oscar Gabrielson leaves his position.
