During his visit to London, Wednesday (27-10-2021) evening, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan or Coordinating Minister Luhut met with the former British Prime Minister who is also the Executive Chairman of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.

In this meeting, Luhut was accompanied by the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Arsjad Rasjid and Chairman of the Advisory Council of Kadin Anindya Bakrie.

During the meeting, various issues were discussed, especially Indonesia's contribution to addressing climate change, which will be raised at the International Conference on Climate Change or the Conference of the Parties (COP26), and the G20 Summit. To his partners, Coordinating Minister Luhut emphasized the focus of the Indonesian government on managing its natural wealth. "Indonesia will balance between conservation and sustainable use of natural resources and the environment to contribute to climate change efforts, for future generations of Indonesia and the world," he said, Thursday (28/10/2021). In addition, Coordinating Minister Luhut also mentioned that the issue of climate change will be an important point that will be conveyed by the government at the 2022 G20 Summit in Bali. On the same occasion, Kadin Chairman Arsjad Rasjid said that in this meeting, apart from discussing opportunities for cooperation between Indonesia and the UK, he also discussed various issues such as environmental issues and climate change. “It is important for businesses in Indonesia to be a part of this international conference (COP26). Because we are committed to hand in hand with the government and all stakeholders to jointly create a Green Economy," said Arsjad.
