The iPhone 14 will be a truly new iPhone. Not a work in progress, as in the case of iPhone 13. There will be a lot of new, interesting, important and useful things. Insiders have already named many things that are likely to turn out to be true. Based on rumors, analyst predictions and patents issued by Apple in the last year, draw conclusions and tell us about the next base iPhone. As soon as new information emerges, we'll update the story right away.
Release Date:
The release date of iPhone 14 is something that is almost 100% known. It will happen in September. The exact date is unknown, but we assume that it will be possible to buy the new iPhone after September 20.
Price:
We can also talk about the cost more or less definitely. If the iPhone 14 turns out to be more expensive than the iPhone 12 and 13, it will be insignificant (no more than $10-20). So we can also talk about Russian prices. Unless, of course, something happens to the ruble's exchange rate against the dollar in 2022. Yes, there will probably not be a 64GB version. So the 128 GB version will be the starting point.
Processor:
Apple is true to tradition. That's why the iPhone 14 will have a chipset called A16 Bionic. It is unlikely that the iPhone will put M1, M2 or a derivative. The A16 will clearly be much more powerful than the current A14 and the iPhone 13's A15. What is the manufacturing process? Apparently already 3 nanometers.
Screen:
The base iPhone will have the same form factor as the iPhone 12 and 13. The super cycle of the same design is not yet complete. That's why the display is 6.1-inch. But the base iPhone's OLED panel will be cooler than the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13. With what? The refresh rate of 120 Hz. And, of course, we are talking about an LTPO panel with an adaptive refresh rate.
Cameras:
It is possible that the simple iPhone 14 will be equipped with a triple camera, similar to the iPhone 11 Pro, 12 Pro and 13 Pro. Expect a super-wide view, and even more advanced optical zoom (we believe, 3 or 4x) and advanced autofocus.
What about the selfie camera? It may turn out to be a sub-screen camera.
Face ID:
Face ID can also be hidden behind the display. And then the new iPhone will have no bangs. At all!
Battery:
The iPhone has never been a battery monster. It is unlikely that the iPhone 14 will be. But we can count on 3500 mAh. And the battery life? It will be a little higher, but the novelty will probably last a day.
Fast, magnetic and reverse charging
The power of fast charging is constantly improving. So in the iPhone 14 we can count on 35-40 watts. Wireless magnetic? At least 20 watts. And the reverse? We're talking about 10-15 watts here.
Design:
From the front, the iPhone 14 will be almost a copy of the iPhone 12/13. Except without bangs and with a hidden camera (if you're lucky). And on the back? We'll probably see a triple camera. Touch ID
The fingerprint scanner will return to the iPhone in 2022 with 99.9% probability. It will be under-screen and very fast. iOS 16 (hopefully it will change more than iOS 15 compared to iOS 14).
Previously, insiders wrote about an additional screen on the back, similar to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. But this is highly unlikely.
