Johnny Depp's NFT Collection Earns 3 Million Pounds in a few hours

Johnny Depp sold his art collection of prints he painted of Hollywood on Thursday and made roughly £3 million in only a few hours. Depp announced on Instagram on Thursday morning that the prints will be available for purchase online via Castle Fine Art, which operates a network of UK galleries.

By Thursday evening, all of the prints had been labelled as “out of stock.” There were 780 pieces of art in all. According to AFP, buyers paid £14,950 for a set of all four framed pictures or £3,950 for a single print.

The gallery chain afterwards tweeted that “Johnny Depp wrecked the internet” and that its website had failed to owe to high demand.

Bob Dylan, the late actress Elizabeth Taylor, actor Al Pacino, and Rolling Stone Keith Richards are all depicted in the pieces.

Depp’s “Friends & Heroes” print collection was “a homage to individuals he has known well and those who have influenced him as a person.”

There has always been art for Johnny Depp. Art has always been a significant outlet for his creativity, before acting and before music. While his acting resume is the foundation of his reputation, the current response to his music with Jeff Beck has inspired and empowered him to share his work, according to the Castle Fine Art website.

“Each image is an intimate depiction of their character in Johnny’s eyes; a portrayal of how they have exposed themselves to him,” it said. From his great buddy Keith Richards, who inspired the mannerisms of the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow, to Bob Dylan, whose creative impact on the artist can be seen in Johnny’s vivid and everlasting representation of the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow.”

According to the exhibition, Depp stated: “My paintings surround my life, but I kept them to myself and limited myself. No one should ever limit themselves.”

The 59-year-old “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor has spent millions of dollars fighting his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, 36.

Depp was awarded $10 million in a defamation case against Heard in the United States in June, while she was awarded $2 million in damages after counter-suing.

Heard is appealing the jury trial judgement, which was live-streamed to millions and revealed gruesome and intimate information about the former couple’s private life.

Depp previously lost a libel action in London in 2020 against the British tabloid The Sun for branding him a “wife-beater.”

In another artistic endeavour, the actor released an album with English musician Jeff Beck earlier this month.

The record received mixed reviews from reviewers but reached the top 40 in the United Kingdom.
