Karthik Tyagi The Super Hero For Rajasthan Royals

It was the 32nd match of the second phase of The Indian Premier League played at Dubai International stadium in UAE. Punjab Kings won the toss and chose to bowl.

 

Rajasthan Royals off to a great start scoring 57 runs in the powerplay for the loss of one wicket. The opening players of RR, Lewis and Jaiswal scored 36 and 49 respectively at a very good strike rate.

 

200 runs was always on the cards with the men from Rajasthan were 164 for 4 at the end of 16 overs with Mahipal Lomror on fire striking at close to 300 scored 43 off just 17 balls. But Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Shami had other plans restricted the opposition to 185. In the last 4 overs only 21 runs were scored and 6 wickets were lost. Arshdeep Singh got a fifer and Shami took 3 wickets for just 21 in 4 overs.

 

In the second innings, Punjab Kings started nicely. They lost the first wicket in the 12th over with the scoreboard showing 120. KL Rahul, the skipper of PBKS scored 49 off 33 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes and his partner Mayank Agarwal scored 67 off 43 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixesThey lost both the openers in quickly then. Pooran and Markram played nicely following the openers.

 

Just 8 runs were required of the final two and then came Mustafizur Rahman for the penultimate over were he conceded just 4. PBKS was as hit away from victory but Karthik Tyagi bowled the greatest over of the IPL were he conceded just 1 run and took 2 wickets in the final over and his team won an impossible win. For his brilliant effort in the final over which helped his team to win, he was given Man of the Match.
