Actor Lee Joon said he was interested in starring in Bulgasal: Immortal Soul because of Sweet Home. His latest drama is said to have a fantasy theme, as well as monsters and mystical creatures similar to the series starring his co-star, Lee Jin-wook. Therefore, Lee Joon admitted that he was very interested in being involved in Bulgasal regardless of the portion of his appearance in the drama.
"I really enjoyed the Sweet Home series. So, I always wanted to try acting in dramas that involved a lot of CGI and monsters," said Lee Joon
"No matter how many times I appear in the drama, I immediately decided to audition for it shortly after seeing my character appear in a scene," he continued.
Lee Joon, who really wanted to play in the drama, initially wasn't sure he could pass the audition. The reason, the actor born in 1988 felt strange when casting. However, director Jang Young-woo entrusted the role to him and believed Lee Joon could act well. Not only that, the former MBLAQ member also said director Jang Young-woo made him comfortable in the shooting location to make him free to improvise while acting in front of the camera. He even became the only actor who did the most ad-libs or improvisations compared to other players. Bulgasal: Immortal Soul tells the story of a man who becomes an immortal being. He cannot die or be killed. The figure is Dan Hwal (Lee Jin-wook) who then transforms into Bulgasal, a Korean mythical creature and wanders for 600 years.
