Messi won't win the Ballon d'Or: Leo is no longer the favorite of bookmakers, the ceremony is a month away

It looks like the prize will go to Munich.

In less than a month - November 29 - we will know the name of the winner of the Ballon d'Or - 2021. For a long time, Lionel Messi was considered the main favorite to win the prize. But by the end of October the situation has changed: the Argentine, who moved from Barcelona to PSG in the summer, has ceased to be the bookmakers' favorite.

According to the authoritative bookmaker Sky Bet, Robert Lewandowski will most likely win the "Golden Ball" - you can bet on his victory at odds of 1.72. Messi is not significantly, but lags behind: on his success they give odds of 2.

In fact, by the end of the year the fight for the Ballon d'Or is reduced to the rivalry between Lewandowski and Messi - the chances of their rivals are within the statistical error. The phenomenal form of Mohamed Salah is the third favorite, you can bet on him at odds of 15. Champions League and Europa League winner Jorginho is fourth on the list with odds of 26.

Then come Real Madrid and France forward Karim Benzema (odds 34), Italy captain Giorgio Chiellini (51), PSG striker Kylian Mbappe (51), Dane Simon Kjaer, who saved Christian Eriksen's life (51) and two Manchester United players - Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo (both have odds 67).

It is possible that the bookmakers' quotes were influenced by the leaked results of the vote for the ZM2021. It is difficult to establish the authenticity of the document that appeared on Twitter, but, one way or another, it put Lewandowski in first place and Messi in second place.
