Microsoft recently announced new features to enhance the experience of using Office Web Apps that are available for free. This new feature is available for the free version of the website that includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Word Web App can now insert headers, footers and page numbers on all pages of a Word document. Microsoft, who announced this information via a blog, said that the table display would be better on Word pages.
Word Web App can also find and replace a word for the first time. Apart from that, it also allows users to insert pages or page breaks. The Excel blog describes the new additions made to Excel Word App. This new addition allows workbooks to get Sheet Protection, bringing up the aggregated status bar in Excel documents. Not only that, this update also makes it possible to reorder sheets, drag and drop cells and rename a workbook. Improvements are also available for PowerPoint Web App. Users can now crop images in PowerPoint and rename a file from within the app. All of these new applications can reportedly be tried in the next few days.
Microsoft Brings Improvements To Excel For Web!
At the Microsoft Forums, Microsoft has announced a number of new features that are presented in Excel For Web, and of course for those of you who are users of this service, the features that are presented are some very important features, what are they?
The first and most important thing is that now, you can open Excel Spreadsheets files that have a size of more than 100MB, but unfortunately this ability only applies to Sharepoint users, but Microsoft promises that they will bring this feature to general users as well.
Second, there is the ability to make edits with legacy art objects and smart art.
Now the best of the other new features that are presented is the ability to open and edit password-protected files, where you can now access password-protected workbooks in Excel for Web. This will certainly allow you to open & interact with your password protected files to open without having to switch back to the desktop version. The last thing is that you can now also edit files that are protected for editing using a password for later modification, allowing you to access & interact with different types of protected workbooks in the browser itself. A lot right? That's okay, apart from that, there will be several other features that will also be presented, you can read Microsoft's announcement on the following page if you are curious what these are,
