New Lexus LX debuts with two V6s and a 4-seater VIP version

Lexus has officially unveiled the new, fourth generation of the LX model. The presentation of the flagship SUV is taking place right now at Moscow's Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, where Motor1 editor Mikhail Kuleshov is also present .

Following the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 , the world premiere of which was also staged in Russia, the Lexus LX switched to the GA-F modular architecture, thanks to which it became 200 kg lighter, 20% stiffer and got a lower center of gravity. The distance between the axles has never been changed by the manufacturer since the launch of the original model in 1995, and the wheelbase is still 2850 mm. The angles of entry, exit and ramp remained the same as in the third generation SUV.

For the first time in history, the Lexus LX has a four-seater VIP version of the Ultra Luxury with separate seats in the back row that recline up to 48 degrees. The front passenger seat can be folded down, freeing up 1.1 meters of legroom. The center armrest houses a touchscreen for comfort functions, while the front seat backrests have entertainment screens, which in this case are included as standard.

The engine range did not bring any surprises: the power units migrated from the same Land Cruiser. The LX 570 modification with a 5.7-liter aspirated V8 was replaced by the LX 600 with a 3.5-liter turbo-six with 415 hp. and 650 Nm. The Russians will also be offered the LX 500d with a 3.3-liter V6 turbo diesel with 300 hp. and 700 Nm instead of the LX 450d with a 4.5-liter V8. Both engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
