Apple is rumoured to debut new MacBook Pro models later this year. Rumours suggest that the more powerful version of the M1 Pro laptop will launch in September 2021. Apple has not made any official announcement around the same. Ahead of the rumoured launch, key details of the upcoming Apple product have leaked multiple times. The latest development is around the laptop’s webcam. A new leak claims that Apple will upgrade the webcam on the MacBook Pro later this year. The leak comes from tipster Dylandkt, who has made several accurate predictions and leaks in the past. Let’s take a look at more details on the upcoming MacBook Pro specs, features, and other details.

Apple MacBook Pro webcam upgrade

Apple’s upcoming MacBook Pro could debut in September. Ahead of the rumoured launch, some details of the Apple laptop have leaked. A new leak from Dylandkt reveals that the upcoming Pro MacBook will feature a 1080p webcam. The company had launched the M1 MacBooks with a 720p webcam. The recently launched M1 24-inch iMac was the first M1 Mac to get a 1080p front camera. Dylandkt also claims that the entire Mac lineup will feature the upgraded webcam.

The 2021 Pro MacBooks are rumoured to launch in 14-inch and 16-inch screen sizes with a mini-LED display. It is also rumoured to launch with a more powerful version of the M1 chip called M1X.

Apple is reportedly working on two versions of M1X chips for the MacBook codenamed Jade C-Chop and Jade C-Die. Both chips will feature eight high-performance cores and two energy-efficient cores. The difference will lie in the GPU. Either model will come with 16 or 32 GPU cores. The M1 chip, in comparison, came with four performance and four efficiency cores. It also has eight graphics cores. The new chip will also come with support for up to 64GB of RAM as opposed to 16GB on the current M1 chip.

The new Pro MacBooks are also tipped to get a redesigned chassis and magnetic charging, according to a Bloomberg report. They will also come with multiple ports, including the HDMI port and SD card slot. Another thing coming back is the function keys. A recent reportclaimed that Apple could ditch the touch bar in favour of function keys on the upcoming MacBook Pros.

Some reports previously claimed that the 14-inch model will enter mass production in Q4 2021. The 16-inch model, on the other hand, is tipped to enter mass production in Q1 2022. Others claim that Apple will announce the Pro MacBooks in September. However, they will go on sale in October or later.
