Online education - A boon or bane

In the end of 2019 Covid 19 came and everything changed.School ,Offices , Colleges everything closed and shifted into online mode.Whole education shrinked into laptops,tablets and mobiles and online education was the only alternative to continue studies further. First may be it was little uncomfortable for students but now they adapted this online education system because this is the only way to continue their education further. Whole world is still in the grip of Covid 19 irrespective of big vaccination drives. So it seems that online education is going on for longer period of time.But is online education advantageous or disadvantageous for students?Let's see further

Online education - A boon

1.Reduces travelling time - It is for sure that online culture has reduced the travelling time not only for students as well as for office workers too.Its a big boon for those students who live very far from their schools.Its saves time especially for students of higher classes and give extra time for studies.

2.Study from their comfort zones - Who doesn't want to study in their own way from their comfort zone. Students can study the way they want with refresh mind

3.Improved attendance - As online classes can be taken from their homes or their location of choice their are very less chance to miss the classes as they dont have to travel also.

4.Increases efficiency - Online learning has numerous ways of teaching such as through pdf, videos, podcasts etc. These are the other ways of learning other than textbooks. Students dont have to spend time in making notes and can record lectures which they miss sometimes in offline classes.

5.Affordable - Online education is way far more affordable than offline as it reduces transportation charges,mess charges and other expenses from schools.

Online education - A bane

1.More screen time - Online education demands more screen time and more screen time are prone to headaches, poor postures and eye strain.

2.Distraction - Online classes also brings lot of distraction as students are also in social media and social media is a big distraction to students.

3.Technical Issues - Electronic gadgets are prone to technical issues and students face lot of technical issues during online classes such as loss of connection during classes and network issues. These issues disrupts studies and students lost focus on studies.

4.Additional training for teachers - Teachers need proper training to tackle the technical aspects of online education. They have to learn all the techniques related to online classes .

5.No physical training and games - Covid 19 disrupted physical exercises and no games period for students . Students cant play in playgrounds and their learning is limited only to textbooks and no games and physical education.

These are the pros and cons of online education. In todays time students have no choice other than online classes and they have to continue this till the normalcy of situation.
