Oppo is preparing to hold its annual Inno Day 2021 event to be held on December 14-15 in Shenzhen. At the event, the company is expected to showcase various smart gadgets and the latest technology. Last year, for instance, it unveiled the Oppo X concept "stretchable" smartphone.
The company won't skimp on smartphones this time around either. It intends to show the retractable camera mechanism. And we are not talking about the front camera, which moves out of the body on the top end, but the main camera. It is assumed that it slides out when you activate any of the modes. Most likely, it can be a mode that allows you to create a photo with optical zoom. Although we can not exclude the possibility that the module will move out of the body, if you just activate the camera.
Oppo has posted a video showing off the development. The video itself also showed that the company was concerned about the integrity of the module. If the smartphone is dropped, the camera automatically hides inside the case to avoid damage. A similar mechanism has previously been proposed in smartphones with a retractable front camera. The video also hints at the fact that the device will be securely protected from moisture.
