Pepperoni Pizza

Ingredients

Dough:

Wheat flour - 250 g

Water - 1/2 cup

Yeast (dry) - 10 grams

Salt - 1 pinch

Olive oil - 1 tbsp.

Sauce (for 4 large pizzas)

Tomatoes - 5 pcs.

Ketchup - 4 tbsp.

Tomato paste - 1 tbsp.

Olive oil - 3 tbsp.

Garlic - 5 cloves

Oregano, basil, thyme, sweet paprika, chili pepper, salt - 1 tbsp.

 

Top:

Mozzarella - 200 gr

Sausage (pepperoni, salami) - 100 gr

 

We have a simplified version and a similar-looking pizza called pepperoni pizza - with discs of spicy salami.

So, in order to make a delicious pepperoni pizza at home, you need a tasty sauce. Since my salami is spiceless, the spiciness needs to be added to the sauce. And the "pepper" (chili peppers) will be right there.

 

For the sauce, combine peeled tomatoes, garlic cloves, herbs (basil, thyme, oregano) and spices (paprika, chili and salt). Add the hot ketchup and beat everything with a blender.

Mix the ingredients for the sauce

Pour the tomato mixture into a skillet with olive oil, add the tomato paste, stir and simmer for about 5 minutes until the liquid evaporates.

You need to stir the yeast in warm, but not hot water and leave it for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, add flour and salt, and pour in olive oil. Knead the dough and wait 45 minutes until it has risen. Place it on the table, crumple it up and roll out into thin flapjacks.

Transfer the flatbread to the baking tray! One time when I was making pizza, for some reason I started to fill it right on the table, not thinking about the fact that it would be hard to transfer the filled pizza to the tray. We ended up eating a semblance of a pizza because half of it stuck together. Do not make this mistake.

Roll out the dough

Brush the flatbread with a flavorful, spicy sauce.

Grease with sauce.

Thinly slice pepperoni (spicy salami) or regular salami.

Slice the sausage.

Grate cheese or slice into discs.

Grate the cheese.

Place the cheese first, and only then the discs of sausage.

Place the cheese and sausage on the base

Bake the pizza in the oven for 7-9 minutes at a high temperature of 250-270 degrees. The oven should already be preheated.
