Philanthropy... the most celebrated lore of Mankind!

Whoever we are... whatever we do... however we live.... let us just stay humans at heart towards our fellowmates, strictly for the pretty plain fact that celebrations need to be shared, just for the sake of it!

Philanthropy, as far as the word's definition goes, is all about making help towards the needy but diverges quite a bit from just doing charity. Let us elaborate a bit more. Charity relates to offering immediate help or relief, mainly through financial givings and monetary supports, though based primarily on the emotions of the donor. Philanthropy, on the other hand, delivers a more strategic helping hand, involving both money based as well as non-monetary benefits to the recepients, sometimes as a routine or more of a long term offering.

One may actually wonder, what philanthropy has got to do with humanitarianism, if at all only the rich and gifted could do with it...

It takes a nerve in the heart to really understand the sufferings and pain that a fellowman at our side undergoes! Offering what we have is one part of the story, but providing what 'he' needs is the best part of it. Yes, it takes a slightly humanitarian rather than an emotional face to realize and perform the acts of philanthropy.

We would have often heard the elders repeat that sharing is for good, when we were even just tiny tots. But why? Just because that it is a good quality to be fostered right from when we were young!

The next big question is all about our actual capacity to be philanthropic. Does it need to be Sir Jamshedji Tata or the contemporary figure, Mr. Shiv Nadar, in order to be a dignitary in the list of philanthropists? Oh... no. It is analogous to asking if one needs to be an actor in order to watch a movie! Of course, limitlessly ridiculous, isn't it? Well, hovering over the main groove, The two great persons have, in fact, done great jobs to be termed as the greatest philanthropists, and naturally no one could near them even in the measure of philanthropy done. But sincerely speaking, it all needs a true kind heart and that's all. When the peak of kindness and the really needy sufferer intercept in the timeline, the spark of philanthropic 'magic' runs high enough to make one to perform an act of true philanthropy, in whatever way possible. Be it through money, or via materialistic offerings, philanthropy just pushes in.

It is quite commonplace to witness people doing acts of philanthropy at places of worship, at times of festival, during anniversary celebrations or on days, when great leaders were born. It is also highly lored and believed by all that acts of philanthropy might bring in good luck and relief, especially where there is lot of sufferings and pain. It is often treated as part of our good tradition to involve ourselves in charity and philanthropy.

It is also a common sight that animals share their food with their members of the group. So, slightly pulling the topic ahead to a more panoramic perspective, philanthropy is part of innate and intrinsic human and animal nature, isn't it?

There we go... come on, let us start to stay highly humanitarian and kind enough to help the needy and sufferers!
