Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is not going to run for vice president and intends to retire from politics, according to CNN Philippines.
Earlier, Duterte agreed to become the country's vice presidential candidate from one of the factions of the "Philippine Democratic Party-People's Power" (PDP-Laban). According to the constitution, he cannot run for the presidency a second time in a row.
"Obeying the will of the people... today I announce my retirement from politics," the president said.
