Smoked sausage and cheese pizza is an unpretentious, everyday dish, but it's no less beloved. First, it is easy to make (especially if you try once - make dough with a reserve and freeze this "reserve"). Secondly, your family and friends will be happy with this pizza. And kids in general will be delighted! Third, you can safely make changes to the toppings on a pizza with smoked sausage and cheese, adding vegetables, herbs or mushrooms: the taste of the bake will only benefit from it.
For the stuffing:
Cold smoked sausage - 150 gr
Hard cheese - 200 gr
Tomato sauce - 4 tbsp.
For the dough:
Dry yeast - 5 g
Drinking water - 120 ml
Flour - 200 gr
Salt - 1/2 tsp.
First cold pressed olive oil - 2 tbsp.
Prepare pizza dough with smoked sausage and cheese. First, pour dry yeast into a small bowl, pour 3 tbsp. of warm water and stir. Leave for 15 minutes to allow the yeast to work.
Sift the flour into a large bowl in a pile. Make a hole in the top, pour in the yeast diluted in water and the remaining warm water. Then use a fork or your hand to knead the pizza dough.
Stir in a circular motion to one side, taking the flour from the walls of the "slide". When almost all the flour has been added, pour in 1 tbsp. olive oil. Season with salt. Knead for about 10 minutes. The dough should be smooth and elastic.
Shape the pizza dough into a ball. Brush it with the remaining oil. Cover the bowl with cling film. Place the dough in a warm place and let it rest for 1-1.5 hours, until it has doubled in volume.
Heat the oven to 220 ° C. Roll out the pizza dough and knead lightly. Roll out into a round thin crust of 25-30 cm in diameter. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Prepare the pizza topping. Grate hard cheese on a fine to medium grater. Cut smoked sausage into thin slices.
Brush the tortilla with tomato sauce and sprinkle with two thirds of the grated cheese. Spread pieces of smoked sausage, sprinkle with the remaining cheese and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes. Serve hot.
If you have mozzarella at home, cut it into thin slices and spread it on the base of the pizza, smeared with tomato sauce. Then place slices of smoked sausage and sprinkle with grated cheese. The pizza will be especially juicy and tender.
Before serving, the pizza with smoked sausage and cheese can be sprinkled with basil leaves, ruccola or other greens and lightly sprinkled with a delicious first cold-pressed olive oil.
