Positive Behavior Supports Children's Character Development at Home

One aspect that builds one's intelligence is the environment. A positive, enthusiastic and cheerful environment can encourage general intelligence. There are many aspects of intelligence that need to be developed, namely social-emotional, cognitive, language, physical-motor, artistic, and spiritual intelligence. The main shaper of most aspects of intelligence is the environment.

In building one's intelligence, one of them is influenced by environmental conditions. A good environment can produce positive behavior for children. Every parent would want a child who behaves positively. But what does positive behavior look like?

Positive behavior includes a variety of actions, responses, actions and reactions from a person. The emergence of this behavior is based on the stimulus that comes from himself and the surrounding environment. The influence of environmental conditions that do not always occur positively can result in unexpected (negative) things.

Behavior is something we can observe. When a child does something unusual (negative), the child may imitate an event that he has seen or heard. Then we can study the behavior, so we can find out why the child behaves like that and we can provide a solution.

Building positive behavior in children starts from the smallest environment, namely the family, where every day children always pay attention to the activities of the adults around them which after they observe will be imitated. Give children positive activities that are ability-training. Some character education that can be applied at home are:

1. Create a fun learning atmosphere so that children are happy. Try to make learning words for early childhood fun, by learning to recognize numbers using songs or recognizing numbers while playing puzzles.

2. Do not forget to teach discipline. Even if you are at home, try to keep your child from acting as he pleases, which is like playing all the time. Teach your child to recognize the time when he can play, when it is time for the child to sleep, and when it is time for him to eat. With the introduction of time patterns that have been taught from an early age, it will make it easier for parents and children to be able to divide their time when they get older.

3. Teach empathy, mutual respect and sharing behavior with others. By teaching empathy to children can improve aspects of children's emotional intelligence.

4. Insert good behavior habituation lessons at home such as helping parents according to the child's age stage. Engage your child in simple activities at home, such as sweeping. When parents wash the vehicle, the child participates even while playing in the water. And other simple things, so that aspects of children's motor intelligence can develop.

5. Teach clean, healthy and orderly behavior. Practicing clean and healthy living from an early age is the key enough for children to avoid various diseases.

Educating children is actually like educating yourself. Children are born with good nature. It is his parents who are able to change by shaping him for the better or for the worse. Children can feel, see and hear all the attitudes, speech, and behavior of adults around them. That is what will shape his character and personality. Be a parent and friend with a person who is getting better every day to be able to bring children who are getting better and have positive character.
